Introducing Dorothy J. Colon

Dorothy Colon, born in Mississippi and reared in Queens, New York City, is a lover of God's music in all forms. She grew up in the COGIC singing in the choir, Memphis Convocations, UNAC, and local church functions. Her love for music opened her up to all styles, traditional, contemporary, country, & Rhythm & Blues. Known though out the church community for her traditional, tambourine beating, foot stomping styles, this cd is truly a departure from a familiar turf. Dorothy invites you into her intimate time with the Lord. No fancy vocals, just pure, smooth melody clear lyrics, and a powerful message.

Dorothy has had the pleasure of singing with many of her favorite artist which include; Timothy Wright, Tramaine Hawkins, and the Clark Sisters. Her Musical influencers are Tramaine Hawkins, CeCe Winans, Roberta Flak, Anita Baker, Vanessa Williams, Dorinka Clarke Cole, the Clark Sisters, Sandra Huff, Leo Colon,Inez Andrews,Richard Hartley and Donnie McClurkin.

After losing her little girl in childbirth Dorothy emerged to thank God for sparing her life. Her husband, Leo Colon whose musical career includes musician and music director for Grammy nominated Vanessa Williams, Anita Baker, Chaka, Pattie Austin, BeBe Winans, and countless others dedicated themselves to the expression of God's faithfulness in all. They produced this mellow cd to usher you into God's Presence. They also opened a church and named it "In His Presence." NY, IHPFWC.org

    After listening to this effort the only conclusion I could come to is that this CD is a must have for your collection. Listen closely and you will hear the sincere love that Dorothy has for God as she expresses it through her music. This CD is destine to be one of those classics that you will be listening to many years from now. This is the kind of music us baby boomers appreciate. It's not the old fashion hymns nor is it the new hip-hop gospel. This CD has a smooth jazz sound that is nothing short of genius. You can play it over and over and never tire of it. This is a must purchase, and I look forward to Part II. This is one of the BEST gospel CDs I've heard in a while. Get a copy for yourself and your three best friends.

    I loved the cd because it keeps it's focus on GOD. The songs were well written and produced. Jesus Said, Your Mercy, Thank You, El Shaddia, Stillness and Another Place are my favorites but the whole cd is great from start to finish.
