notes
Singer-songwriter Adam Dorfman performs his songs with rich, warm vocals, intricate acoustic sounds and elements of diversity and heart lacking in much of today's music. Take one part folk music, add one part acoustic rock and a dash of country, and you've got the sound that has gained Adam a faithful following of listeners of all ages.
At the age of 15, Adam became one of the youngest artists ever to play the renowned Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA. Six years later, he still plays to audiences at Eddie's and all across the United States.
His collaborative projects include the names of some of the finest artists in the country, including Shawn Mullins, Francine Reed, Ellis Paul, Kristian Bush (of Billy Pilgrim) and Michelle Malone. Adam has also shared the stage with such acts as Alison Krauss and Union Station, Shawn Mullins, Art Garfunkel, Anne Murray, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls, Pierce Pettis, Ben Folds Five, Sister Hazel, and more.
Adam's stage presence is warm, his lyrics intelligent and his guitar work richly complex. His shows are a blend of original songs and cover versions of well-known folk and rock songs. While listeners are drawn into the straightforward, intimate lyrics of his own work, Adam has proven himself capable of doing acoustic justice to just about any song that can be played on a guitar. It is not unusual for his audiences to sing along with him not only on well-known covers, but on his own songs as well.
The mature sounds of Adam's latest CD, The Difference, are quickly gaining him a spot among folk rock's foremost artists. From the powerful and tender strains of the first track, "Century Child," through the touchingly human stories told in "Sioux Falls Soldier" and "Ashley's Song," Adam uses both his songwriting and guitar playing skills to create an undeniably unique sound that appeals to the very heart of his audience. While drawing influences from the likes of Lyle Lovett, Tom Waits, Van Morrison, and Jim Croce, Adam's energetic original songs remain original and true to form.
Adam's recordings include: The Difference (2000), Does Not Play Well With Others (1998), Psycho Poet Recordings Volume Three (1997, out of print), Roller Coaster Trip (1996), and TC-17 (1995). All were mixed, recorded and co-produced by Don McCollister at Nickel and Dime Studio in Avondale Estates, GA. One of the finest producers of acoustic music in the country, Don has mixed for the Indigo Girls, Caedmon's Call, Chuck Brodsky and Billy Pilgrim, as well as many others.

Alles fließt, zieht vorbei und bleibt doch
