Deanna’s musical journey began at an early age. At 4 years old she was tapping out familiar tunes by ear on the family piano. She started taking lessons when she was 5 1/2 and after studying the piano for 4 years, reaching intermediate level, she became interested in the harp.
Deanna saved all the money that she could at the age of 9, and after 2 years of commitment, determination and practice, her parents purchased a harp. Deanna had been performing the piano publicly with her brother from the time she was 7 and immediately incorporated the harp into their music ministry.
In 2003 Deanna wrote her first song with no intention of singing or continuing to write. In 2004 she was inspired to write more and started coming up with a song every two weeks. Throughout the months of October and November, Deanna completed her first 2 albums of harp music at the age of 15.
In 2005 one of her original songs won first runner-up out of 12,000 entries in a National Teen Songwriting Competition. This encouraged her to pursue the next album, and in September she had completed her first vocal CD consisting of original Christian songs. This album was received extremely well by the churches and Christians throughout the region.
Deanna continues to write and record her songs. On an average she does 130 live performances each year regionally. It is her prayer that the music she performs will promote family harmony and love and will inspire her listeners to a closer walk with Christ.
