Danielle's edgy, driving guitar locomotion engages Cregan's tantalizing nontraditional fiddle, as the two women weave their "incredibly sweet and fine harmonies" (WMPG, Portland) into a unique alternative folk-rock style.

notes

The 7 songs on Divine Maggees' self-released debut CD "Way back when..." were recorded live in the studio & produced by Laurie Geltman. Captured in their early, in-progress stages, these songs are filled with a raw, excited energy that Divine Maggees are carrying with them on stages throughout the country.

"Your music, your whole way of presenting it, is extraordinary. I love the combination of guitar and violin and the original lyrics. The flow between you onstage is a big part of it all. Very magical. Divine really. What a gift to hear all that beauty and love and great music - Your concert reminded me that there's a lot of hope for this world! Thanks." --Audience member and poet, Barbara Maria.

And not just because Danielle wrote a song inspired by one of my paintings she saw in Provincetown (Pink Fairy Wish Poodle). How fun is that, though?! Thanks, ladies!

Divine Maggees seem to pour all of their passion and energy into their songs... When they sing "Everything I am, I am for you" with intensity, they make the listener want to fall in love. The duo carries this fervor to "Wake up to My Love," a song that joins a coarse acoustic beat with a screeching fiddle and lyrics full of desire: "All I long for is to be with you again/ You keep illusion from sinking in my skin/ Wake up to my love/ I'm the one you're dreaming of..."

Whether it's the bright, spirited folk ballad with an Irish lilt ("Deep Blue Undertow"), the quiet sense of purpose which accentuates a soulful message ("Forgiveness"), the respectful use of a Native American chant ("Old Brick Wall") or a rollicking fiddle frolick ("Everything"), their music is strong, their vocal harmonies are totally mesmerizing and their obvious passion for this mission rings out loud and clear. My heart clearly tells me big things are in store for the Divine Maggees.
