The first Discipline studio CD moves quickly from delicate to demented. Singer Matthew Parmenter establishes pretty melodies over lyrics about uncomfortable and, at times, disturbing subjects. Running Time: 56 minutes, 14 seconds.

NEARfest 2008 welcomes Discipline. LIVE
North East Art Rock Festival
June 21 & 22, 2005
http://www.nearfest.com/
The members of Discipline. originally met as high school students in Royal Oak, Michigan. They gained a following in the Detroit area partly because they performed challenging, original music, and partly due to their strange live shows. Lead singer, Matthew Parmenter, delivered each song in a different costume behind a thick coat of mime's makeup.
After the release of Push & Profit, Discipline. played numerous shows throughout the U.S., sharing bills with new and established artists such as Ozric Tentacles, Steve Howe of Yes, Anekdoten, and Echolyn. Discipline. has been featured on radio shows in Europe and North and South America, and the band flew to Norway for a tour directed by a Norwegian college. Push & Profit (1993) was released on the independent label, Strung Out Records.
STRUNG OUT RECORDS:
Strung Out Records released Discipline.'s studio CDs, "Push & Profit" (1993) and "Unfolded Like Staircase" (1997), as well as Matthew Parmenter's solo CD "astray" (2004). The independent label also produced the definitive visual record of the band in concert: "Discipline. Live 1995" (DVD 2005).

Great progressive album
author: UweIf you're familiar in the musical range from Genesis to Gentle Giant, you'll love to listen to this piece. Beautiful songwriting and a very good lead voice makes this CD a great pleasure.
