Singer/songwriter Dionne Blaize starting singing before she could talk. Her mother informed Dionne that she would imitate every song she sang to Dionne beginning at the age of 6 months old, and Dionne has been singing ever since! Dionne’s musical roots began in her church choir and also in the Performing Arts departments of her junior high and high school. During her teenage years, Dionne wrote, composed, and sang with continued enthusiasm. With Whitney Houston, Bob Marley, Patti Labelle, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin and Mariah Carey, J.C. Lodge and Judy Boucher serving as her sources of inspiration, Dionne determined that she would one day have a career in music. Dionne's parents migrated from Grenada to the United States in the 1970's in hope of seeking a better life. Although life was very hard for Dionne's family, she never let that discourage her from pursuing her dream. She always had a vision. Dionne has often said that "if I can touch one soul through my music then I am blessed". Her song, "Rise Up", featured on her newly released album entitled "Rise Up", is the source of her motivation. It is quite clear and evident that Dionne Blaize is a diamond in the ruff. A star in the making. And with Dionne's hard work and determination it isn't hard to see that she will, Rise up!!

    I met dionne blaize on myspace through a friend of mine and im so grateful to have the chance to know such a beautiful true hearted lady *DIONNE* since then we have become good friends i would like to say i was the first one to buy dionnes new album *RISE UP* and i think this album is magnificent and i cant stop listening to her lyrics they are so REAL AND TRUE TO HER HEART AND OUR HEARTS it proves to us all that dionne is a rising star and is already famous in my books and she has such a unique gift from god her voice she has to be my favourite female artist YOUR MUSIC HAS WON MY HEART FOREVER GURL U RAWK ALL THE BEST NOW AND FOREVER!!CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT YA HAVE IN UR SITES NOW ;-)

    Rise Up is a definite must have. This CD is classy, easy to listen and groove to and very deep. Her songs are inspirational, enjoyable and fun. Her son Rise Up, which happens to be one of my favorite songs reminds me of Bob Marley's music. It really and truly is a great album and everyone should purchase it. For all those who do purchase it they will be very happy they did! It reminds me of the great reggae music we were privy to in the 80's and 90's.

    This is a beautiful CD for anybody who loves reggae. My partner is actually a classically trained opera singer (Porgy & Bess) - a style a million miles away from reggae - but she shares my enthusiasm for the excellent vocal ability of this artist together with the knockout backing that should have anybody who hears it up and dancing. Dionne deserves to be signed to a major label which will nurture her talent and give her proper support. Dionne is so committed to her craft and her desire to give people happiness with her music that the creation of this CD from start to finish was financed solely by Dionne herself with only minimal assistance from others. It is an excellent collection which truly deserves the 5-star rating I have given it.

    “Rise Up” by Dionne Blaize is an energetic collection of hook-laden reggae tunes. Dionne’s emotion-filled and vibrant vocal performances quickly and easily steal the limelight. Moreover, the compositions on this CD display superb instrumentation, especially the electric guitar riffs and drum arrangements. Kicking off this album with contagious energy is the danceable love song “I’m In Love With You Baby.” The spiritually optimistic “Rise Up” stands out as particularly honest, expressive, and heart-felt. Moreover, Dionne includes a refreshingly creative reggae rendition of Alicia Key’s “No One.” All in all, this CD is rich in powerful vocals and groovy beats, and demonstrates great production. This CD will make an excellent addition to the collection of any reggae fan.
