notes
Solo rock singer and multi-instrumentalist Jason Didner is born and raised in New Jersey, USA. Since 1994, Jason has set out on a path to deliver clean-cut rock that helps people feel connected to a larger world (and have a few much-needed laughs along the way). This bid has proven successful on many occasions, like when National Public Radio (NPR) aired two of Jason's songs as part of their Car Talk automotive humor program.
Jason is currently performing on the New York/New Jersey coffeehouse circuit in support of his new American Road album, which blends the styles of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello and Bob Marley in describing his American experience in the two years since 9.11.01 changed world history. To complement his in-person appearances in the Northeastern US, Jason "virtually" tours the world by giving live performances over the Internet using chat software, such as PalTalk.
A noteworthy twist to this album's making is that it involves long-distance collaborations with artists in England, Florida and Oregon. The album has begun to catch positive attention from Internet-based rock radio stations and independent music reviewers alike. In February of 2004, Kweevak.com radio listeners voted Jason their #1 artist in their weekly Top Ten program.
Prior to this breakthrough release, Jason has participated in some successful recording projects:
A comedy music single titled "You Can't Get There from Here in Jersey," which was featured on NPR in 2001 and later included in a Car Talk music compilation.
The accompanying piano and organ tracks to a hard-working New Jersey band Jim Kilby and the Crusade's Sacred Heart CD in 1996.
"Becky's Tune", an instrumental single whose sales benefited the Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO) in 1994.
Jason's near-term plans include the expansion of his audience for live performance, the dedicated promotion of his independent American Road CD, and the use of audio-enabled Internet chat services that allows him to perform live for anyone in the world, at any time. He is also starting to have his songwriting covered by notable artists around the world. Canadian country artist Brett Service has successfully test-marketed his own version of Jason's song titled Glass Half Full, and will include it on his next full-length CD. In the long term, Jason has his eye on crafting many more songs and CDs in the spirit of the artists who fill his speakers at home and in the car: The Eagles, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffet, Warren Zevon and Matchbox Twenty.

Great diverse album
author: Alex KriukovThis is a great album from an excellent up and coming American singer-songwriter Jason Didner. The songs are very diverse stylistically, combining elements of classic rock ('American Road'), progressive rock ('Building Up/ Wall of Sound'), folk ('My Gentle Warrior'), hard rock ('Enemy of my Enemy') as well as blues and reggae. The songs showcase Jason's formidable acoustic and electric guitar skills as well as his strong vocals. The lyrics are very deep and introspective and showcase a very mature and intelligent songwriter, one who writes from the heart and is not afraid to state his viewpoints on issues that affect the American people as well as on more personal issues. Buy this album, you will not be dissapointed.
Jason Didner is a rocker who brings insight, wit and integrity to his music ...
author: Kweevak.comThis twelve-track collection is versatile featuring organic acoustic numbers, ballads and hard rockers with searing guitar work. American Road is Jason's observations of life after 9/11... His lyrics are both solemn and humorous. The CD opens strong with the title track. It is an honest personal song yet shares universal concepts within its catchy hooks and rousing rifts. 'Enemy of My Enemy' includes Scott Landers who contributes combat like guitar parts to an intense song. Yet the song has a softer reflective refrain, an interesting contrast of thoughts and styles. 'Will You Be My Brother' features Europica and Ed Drury. It is intriguing with its reggae vibe combined with techno experimentation. Jason Didner is a rocker who brings insight, wit and integrity to his music and American Road captures that essence. Enjoy!
An Excellent Album that will Remain a Favorite
author: Will HayworthIt's clear that Jason has a sense of humor; Track 4, Instant Love, cracked me up, and it does have a connection to real life. American Road is an excellent album that will remain one of my favorites for years to come.
High caliber acoustic/electric rock with heart. Highly recommended!
author: Steven Webb, Uforic ProductionsJason Didner is a man of many talents. Aside from a few guest musicians, he plays all of the instruments on "American Road", and does a fine job at all of them. His voice is very pleasant and heartfelt. His guitar playing is versatile and tasteful. The rhythm section is very solid. Combined with great production, it all comes together to form a very smooth and unique blend of acoustic/electric rock. The overall mood has a slinky, acoustic, bluesy feel that I haven't heard since Steve Miller. The songwriting is top-notch, the lyrics are thoughtful, and range from personal to global in scope. He is not afraid to take on challenging subjects, and to voice his opinion. I highly recommend "American Road"!
