notes
Dicky Groenewold a.k.a Dicky Greenwood has been playing guitar, writing songs and performing his own style of blues & soul music for more than 25 years. He was influenced by great players as 'The Kings' Ronnie Earl, Dickey Betts, Albert Collins and Jimmy Johnson. The singers who where a great influence are Al Green, Gregg Alman, Eddie Hinton, Delbert Mclinton, Luther Allison and many more.
Mixing these different styles of blues and soul, Dicky created his own special sound. That's one of the reasons Dicky has been asked to go on tour with legends as Byter Smith , Little Smokey Smothers, Dr. Ross and and others. Since 1996, Dicky is also guitar player for Mr.Boogie Woogie. A reporter wrote about Dicky: "He may be Dutch but what you hear is nothing less than a Southern Soul singer - and one who can play expressive blues guitar!".
On this album, 'SOULFUL BLUES' with 13 original Greenwood songs you will hear what Dicky likes most: telling stories with voice and guitar...
