This anthology of songs was collected from folksingers, writers, and teachers from around the country to literally "give voice" to the thoughts and concerns sweeping education in America over the effects of "No Child Left Behind" on our schools.

Songs range from professional musicians such as George Grove (Kingston Trio), Tom Chapin, Stuart Stotts, Skip Jones, and David HB Drake, and performing the writings of teachers, "Dangerous Folk" with Julie Thompson, David HB Drake and Cap Lee. This is a must for teachers everywhere!

    After hearing excerpts on the CD Baby website I bought two copies, one for me and one for a friend. There are some songs on this CD that caused me to laugh so hard I nearly had to pull my car over. Thanks for bringing some levity to this crazy time period in educational history!

    A wonderful look at NCLB's idiocies. I've gotten copies for all the teachers in the family and to share at school. At least the CD can keep us laughing while we deal with this strange twist on education.

    I stumbled upon this cd while doing research for a paper on NCLB and creativity, and it was a great find. I especially like the song "Flowers are Red" and included the lyrics as an intro to my paper!

    I'm a teacher education prof.and I thought this collection of songs really captured how terrible a thing No Child Left Behind is for American children and American schools. Every politician, and in fact everyone who votes Republican, should be required to listen to it. I'd be hard put to pick a favorite song, though. Good job!

    I loved this CD. It is a great spoof on a subject I feel very strongly about. I want to send a copy to all the folks in Washington who wrote and promote the NCLB act. Maybe they will sing along and listen to the words.

    As a fan of folk music and an opponent of draconian, authoritarian education directives by career politicians, I love NCLB (the CD, not the ESEA revisions). Some of the songs are substantially more to my liking than others. For Whom the Bell Curves and What Did You Learn School Today are more to my liking than So Many Ways to Be Smart. I am superbly pleased by the CD, especially because proceeds go to fighting the system. =D

    I enjoyed your CD immensely. I shared it with my staff and we had some laughs and chuckles. I have to admit I preferred some songs more than others. My favorites were What Did You Learn In School Today? and Test The Kids. A couple of the more pointed political lines will become dated quickly but much of it will be right for years!

    This is a funny and thought provoking collection of music in the old-time folk tradition. Some of it is sung with tongue firmly in cheek, and other songs come straight from the heart. Play it at a staff meeting, board meeting, or pta meeting. It will inspire conversation!

    As an educational diagnostician (and former Resource teacher), I really enjoyed this CD. I especially liked: 1) For Whom the Bell Curves*, 2) Flowers Are Red, 3) So Many Ways to Be Smart, 4) Someone Taught Me and 5) Leave It Like It Is. (*Like all of this one that dealt with education and IQ - didn't think the sexuality verse was consistant with the general theme of the CD - would have given the CD a 5 without that verse.)

    What a fantastic CD! I got my copy in the mail at school today. I put it right on the CD player and just listened straight through. I especially like the Flowers Are Red song, Save Our Schools, For Whom the Bell Curves, and These Schools Are Your Schools. Heck, I like all 15 songs. The music is familiar, so it's easy to sing along to. The lyrics are telling. Anyone who cares about the kind of schooling our children receive should listen to this CD and then take action. The message of this CD is strong--learning should be joyous!
