Just returning from a successful CD release concert tour of China, Italy, France and Spain...DEBBIE GIFFORD,international vocalist and composer, appears in many of the top jazz clubs and concert venues internationally, regionally and locally in the United States, Asia and Europe. Her sensual style of phrasing and timing are the very essence of her creativity. Debbie is spellbinding - she holds the audience in the palm of her hand. This collection of love songs is as unique as the performer herself. It takes the listener on a journey from the jazz-funk version of "Moondance", "Summertime" duet with Harvie S, to her poignant rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". "As far back as I can remember...all I ever wanted to do was sing. My first recollection of this passion to sing was my first solo at age 4, as Ngana, in "South Pacific". With eyes wide open I walked slowly out to center stage and felt the ever so slight tingle of butterflies dancing inside, but I was not frightened or nervous...I was home...I was singing. I still feel the sensations as if it were only moments ago, as the butterflies flutter; I feel my voice lilting thru the air with a sensation as light and carefree as a feather floating to earth. This is my home...this is my heart...this is my passion.
Nowadays as my repertoire overflows with songs of love, it seems only natural to gather a collection of remarkable love songs representing the various expressions of love. Each song selected to symbolize a different aspect of love in my life; maternal love, romantic love, heartache of love, healing of a broken heart, devotional love, unconditional love, a list of memories and emotions too extensive to recall. The collection begins with my composition: "So Many Songs About Love", a song conveying the joys and romance of love...a feeling of the hope and promise that love embodies."
This raven-haired songbird captivates audiences with her sensual and emotional delivery of timeless standards. A native of Cleveland,Ohio Gifford has a natural affinity for music. Debbie has a vocal gift and is able to blend many different styles into her own unique sound. A new word is born: "Sensu-o-sational." Debbie Gifford does a lot of different, jazzy & sexy interpretations on the CD, so listen to all the tracks. The only thing better than the CD is seeing, and hearing, Debbie in concert. She pours out her heart to the audience with a pure and lovely voice. If you don’t get some good lovin’ with the combination of this "sensu-o-sational" CD, the fine wine & your lovely lady, well, let me put it to you this way, boys, it ain’t Debbie’s fault. She gives you more than you need to be considered a "classic" with this CD.
She has a teffic voice,and very sexy! A real talent that shoudn't be missed.
