notes

Dear Listener,
It is with great pleasure that we are presenting this recording to you. It contains some of our most requested musical selections. As you have probably noticed already, this time around we have decided to expand on the genre of klezmer. We are offering traditional klezmer selections: Odessa Bulgarish, Firn di Mekhutonim, Unzer Toyrele/Russian Sher, Der Heyser Bulgar. Another part of our offering is our so-called "fusions": Baroque Klezmer (between Baroque music and klezmer - we have found that
J.S.Bach loved the klezmer music), Grichisher Tantz (between Greek music and Klezmer), Nigun Atik (Israeli and flamenco), Latin Freilach (latin beat and klezmer), Chuperlika (a traditional Macedonian tune with an occasional klezmer twist), Klezmorim in Orient (our own elaboration on the idea of klezmer musicians who land in China and try to collaborate with some traditional Chinese musicians), Gypsy Craze (improvisational fantasy on a Gypsy theme with strong latin, klezmer and Israeli elements) and finally Meorav Yerushalmi (an attempt to recreate many sounds and textures of the great city of Jerusalem, with lots of improvisation involved.) We hope you will enjoy listening to "Klezmer Travels the World" as much as we have enjoyed recording it.
Until next time,

David Glukh International Ensemble.
