notes
This 2 CD set is the culmination of the tight musical association and friendship of vocalist Dewey Erney and seven-string guitarist Ron Escheté. In 1982 these gentlemen recorded a vinyl album entitled "A Beautiful Friendship." The analog tapes were preserved and this recording, now in digital, comprises Disc 1.
Disc 2 was recorded during 2001 and just released with Disc 1. The same vocal and guitar format was used. This configuration has served Dewey and Ron well during this span of 20 years, as they perform many, many times in this duo format, so this is not merely a recording get-together but a living, breathing entity.
If you enjoy pure, unadulterated honesty in the music you listen to, this 2 CD set is for you. The melodies are clear; the lyrics are intelligent and beautifully articulated; the voice is warm and in tune; the guitar sound is lovely with it's wonderful, cutting-edge chordal reharmonizations. Wow, how these two guys swing!
