notes
Volume 1 in Dewey Erney's series, Standards of Excellence, is a lovely example of his commitment to the great standards written by America's finest composers: ie; Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Johnny Mercer, Fats Waller and the like. The material in this album is done with the taste and talent that is too seldom heard these days.
In addition to Dewey's sterling vocals, the spirit and teamwork shown by two extraordinary musicians (Brian O'Rourke and Benjamin May) are a delight throughout.
