notes

The title, "Time Was," seemed to be apropos, inasmuch as all but one of thses songs were written over 50 years ago.

These songs are indicative of a time when most of the great standards were written. I was fortunate in that respect to be growing up right after World War II. Being from a musical family, there were records being played constantly (Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, KStan Kenton, Broadway & Classical albums, etc.), so that much of the music I now perform was learned by osmosis.
