notes
You And The Night And The Music is a superb recording by four world-class musicians which was completed in just six hours. It is a very relaxed, lovely but deeply grooved session by four gentlemen who obviously respect the music they've performed here.
Of course, vocalist Dewey Erney and guitarist Ron Escheté have recorded and performed so much together over the years that their craft has become so empathetic that, at times, they sound like one person. This is the best vocal/guitar duo in all the realm of jazz music. The addition of hall of fame rhythm section members Dave Carpenter on bass and Joe La Barbera on drums puts the icing on the cake. In the past, Joe worked with such greats as Tony Bennett and Bill Evans for long periods of time.
Ron Escheté, who has many recording projects to his credit, has said, "This is one of the finest recordings I've ever been involved with."
This is a wonderful vocal album with plenty of instrumental space given to all participants. Purchase this one. Satisfaction guaranteed!
