notes
"Devon Gundry's 4-song EP, "At the top of my Lungs", is a crystalline acoustic guitar/vocal collection of gorgeous music, vocal harmonies, and pop sensibility song writing - all set to the spiritual words from Bahai writings. The lyrics are straight out of a passion for Gundry's spiritual life - universal poetic truths from his heart. Musically, the clean and perfectly produced bare dedication is performed with one can only describe as an eternal sincerity and love. "At the Top of My Lungs", the title track, is a moving and exciting track that reminds of Penn. "A Healing Prayer" utilizes climactic harmonies and memorable melody. "Words for Waking" and "The First Hidden Word" are similar in tone, scope, and performance. It has to be said that one of the toughest accomplishments for a songwriter is to take another's words and put them to music. When those words are a prayer, with seemingly no rhyme or standard song format, the accomplishment of a melodic and compelling tune is really quite amazing. Well done from the Southern California talent."

author: Tracy MalloySo I love eclectic music, which brought me here to CD Baby. Devon Gundry helped make this my favorite music source of all time. Have you ever wanted to shout out your love? Devon does, with style unmatched. He takes some faintly familiar riffs, blends them in wholly new ways, and uses them to lead us to uncharted waters with joy and wonder. YES! Buy this one and take it home to live with you.
