(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

A mixture of electric & acoustic modern blues. Get ready for a musical journey full of expressive vocals with lyrics we all can understand. With whispers of Buddy Guy to echos of Hendrix, these songs are straight from the heart.

notes

Dennis began his music career in his early teens in Baltimore County, Maryland and played guitar in several cover and original bands throughout his youth. Later he relocated to Europe for a few years and played with notable blues and R&B bands. For over ten years Dennis has fronted the Dennis Jones Band and has played many blues clubs and festivals in California, Arizona, Nevada and elsewhere around the country.

"Falling Up" is Dennis' first release on Blue Rock Records. The music on this CD takes you on a musical journey full of expressive vocals and heartfelt lyrics matched with a line up of highly talented musicians that help each song reach their full musical potential. The music's a mixture of electric and acoustic blues with flavors of rock, jazz and country. Dennis' playing will remind you of some of the best and most exciting blues guitarists of our time.

If you have the opportunity, you must see Dennis Jones live. Dennis makes a point of giving the audience 110% every time he hits the stage. When you hear his music and see him live, you will understand how refreshing it is to have such a talented and versatile artist in a sometimes stale and repetitive blues market.

We saw Dennis at the Blues Bash in Julian, CA and were truly wowed. (Buddy Guy's former backup guitarist sat next to us for all 5 or 6 bands, but he told me he came specifically to see Dennis on the recommendation of a friend.) His voice echoes Jimi; his guitar smacks of Texas. And his songwriting develops a sound that becomes his own. We bought "Passion for the Blues" onsite at Blues Bash and Carol and I occasionally fight over who gets to keep it in who's car. With "Falling Up" in our hands now, those arguments should become less frequent.

I saw Dennis at a Blues Festival here in Tucson and he was smokin. His new CD sold out before those guys could finish their set!! I'm 12 and this is one of the first CDs I'm going to buy with my own cash. I hope this guy comes back to Tucson. If not I'm going to have to find an under 21 show in CA!!!!
