Roots Reggae from members of the grammy nominated Blue Riddim Band (Dem Riddims). Politically charged and deadly.

notes

Composer Jack Blackett is a member of the legendary band "Blue Riddim". They were nominated for a grammy with their album entitled "Alive in Jamaica" recorded at Sunsplash. The band still appears occasionally these days and is still actively performing and writing in other KC incarnations. This recording features 4 of the members including "Duck" McLane on drums, Jack Blackett on Sax, and Gary Helm on bass. Like so many of the reggae greats, Jack has always had a nose for political issues and never shied away from hot topics in his writing. Osama Bin Forgotten speaks for itself. The arranging is crisp and the lyrics crackle with biting commentary. If you haven't got an earfull yet, you owe it to yourself to check out this modern rip at the missed opportunities and greed of the Bush administration.
Thanks Jack for saying what too many of us ignore every day.

Look for a full length album in a ska vein from these Riddims in 2007!

Great CD! I'm a 20 year old liberal college student who ordered this album for my 54 year old conservative republican father. He and I both love Dem Riddims!!

  • great muzik for the massive with a message.

BRB/Dem Riddims deliver a message for the massive about the current White House Occupier's Poli-Tricks. DIS ONE STRAIGHT TO GEORGE BUSH'S HEAD. AWOH, YU LEARN AND YU FEEL IT.

  • The BRB boys can still carry the message and the swing.

It has been a few years since their “Nancy Reagan” tune was spinning on the turntables but North America's reggae riddim masters are back in the groove with another lively shot at the White House. Bright crisp horns, a solid reggae shuffle, and some very smart politics you can dance to. So cue it up, start humming, and don't forget to vote next Tuesday.

  • Slap dem down! Too much greed and corruption. Thanks Riddims

This single is bangin'. Roots rock is my love, and I've listened to this song at least 100 times. Still not tired of it. Keep the grooves coming Blackie!
