notes
Dejection in it's current form originated in late 2002 when drummer Jordan Snyder and Nick Thodroff decided to jam after their past band Synthesis broke up, frustrated with the way current local bands were Jordan and Nick made a decision to take their new band to the next level by taking everything that influenced them and put it into one.
Enter vocalist Chris Shaski, Nick had known Chris from his past band Invictus whom was a metal band that could never quite find what they were looking for musically, and they broke up after a year together with little success. Nick realized Chris's great potential after jamming with his past band and was impressed with his vocal skills that were melodic yet aggressive and it was the vocal style that Nick and Jordan were looking for.
The 3 soon jammed together for the first time and something happened that neither of them could describe. The connection they had musically was amazing and they knew that this band was here to stay.
Solidifying their line up with the addition of acquaintance and bass player Matt Jordan. Matt was originally just supposed to be fill in for a show they had booked but after they both agreed it would best benefit the band and it's members if Matt was their permanent bassist.
Many shows and recording sessions later Dejection is a force to be reckoned with, with their brand of heavy yet melodic songs, and energetic, dynamic, and explosive live performances this band is definitely one to keep your eye on.
