Deep Thinkers - Known for instilling critical consciousness brought to all oppressed people through sound. Constantly recreating the boundaries of traditional hip-hop and bringing lyrics of thought.

Aaron Sutton, aka Brother of Moses, and Kyle Dykes, aka Leonard D. Stroy, have both played essential roles in the developing Kansas City and Midwest Hip-Hop scene. When the two met in middle school, they discovered a common devotion to the music. From there, they spent years tagging and breaking together. Bro of Mo and Lenny D. first musically collaborated in Seven Fold Symphony, a live based hip-hop group that also included Approach (now signed to Coup d'Etat). In 2002, side projects aside, the dynamic duo formed Deep Thinkers.

Sutton derived his stage name, Brother of Moses, from the biblical story of Aaron, who spoke words of wisdom for the stuttering Moses. Sutton professes, "I'm like the news reporter. If you live in Kansas City, you'd be able to understand the dynamic and the segregation. That's why I'm the brother of Moses, the spokesman, because I see all of this stuff and I get to put it down." The name Leonard D. Stroy describes Dykes' abilities on the tables.

True to their name, the Deep Thinkers choose to speak of poverty, empowerment, domestic abuse, and non-party-related politics. Tired of the stale, repetitive, mass produced hip-hop, Deep Thinkers step up the game and rock the stage, sure to make "Necks Move."

    All I know is that in two years DEEP THINKERS will be headlining clubs all over this small globe. This CD is incredible considering its supposed to be a debut. You'd be crazy not to listen to this album.

    This CD is just too much at times - the beats and the melodies are infectious, and there is no anti-biotic that can cure what you get from these guys. Combining humor (We Live in Kansas City...), with a social conscience (just about all the other tracks), these guys get their point across but never come off as pretentious. End-to-end, the originality and excellence will bowl you over. My neck moved so much listening to this that I had to put a leash on it. Damn.

    This group really sounds alot like ZionI infact some people might even get them confused.And ZionI and Deep thinkers both rap about pretty much the same thing, society politcs and music.This is good concious hip-hop.The track We live in Kansas City is so great and hilarious.The flow is amazing.

    Another cog in the wheel of a burgeoning local Rap scene. Kansas City stand up!!! Lenny D and Bro-Mo pull this one off well. Who ever said it was tough to merge melodic tracks with substantial lyrical content??? Aaron is compelling, fascinating, and insightful. While every track has a place...the shining moment on "Necks Move" is the track that sees participation from fellow Kansas City cohort Joe Good ("Interruption With Substance"). This song is one of the most inventive songs I've heard from any artist in a long while. This song was an inspiration for me to begin writing again. Cured a long spell where I hadn't been creating, rhyming....This song is one I'll remember 20 years from now. If this album doesn't have you standing by the end check your pulse you might be dead... My necks moving...Is yours???
