Album Notes

Deek Hoi is an American band. They have been linked to the Psych Folk/New Weird America movement, although their music often strays from any obvious genre. They have supplied soundtracks to Irene Moon's Auk Theatre, Red Herring Films, and have lived and worked at the Charles Mansion in Lexington, Kentucky. They currently release music on the Lampblack Label, and are members of the Big Fresh, an international collective of musicians, filmmakers, and artists. "Exquisite folk-pop" - Ross Compton, LEXINGTONPROJECT.ORG "[Deek Hoi] is everything magical you remember about your childhood--plunky pianos, whimsical daydreams, wobbly space sounds, and that 'lets see what happens when . . .' curiosity that most of us tend to lose or abandon roundabout the age of 10." - Leslie Wylie, THE METROPULSE "The audio equivalent of a fever dream" - S. Wildsmith, DAILY TIMES "Deek Hoi . . . produce[s] music that is light on guitar and enriched with upright bass, toy synths and fluttering piano melodies[;] the electronica influences eccentrically combine with traditional folk to create melodies that are as warm and catchy as they are intriguing..." - Jer Cole, NEWS SENTINEL
