b.2002 (Waco, TX) Scott Spruill and Mark Dellis met while attending college. Scott and his acoustic guitar started opening for a band Mark was in, until Scott replaced the lead singer. Soon Mark and Scott split off and started recording music for thier own project called, THE DECEIVERS. After an E.P. and finally the 1st full length in 2006 (i really like your eyes. can i wear them? In September 2006 after a tour around Texas, Scott and Mark left for California via Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon. Settling in Long Beach for a year, where they would meet; drummer, Brent Firestone and various other players to build their sound. In September of 2007, THE DECEIVERS relocated to Los Angeles, and began to pre-record for thier 2nd full-length album. Bassist, SHAWN COREY CAMPBELL joined in late 2007. They picked Elliott Smith’s “NEW MONKEY STUDIO” in Van Nuys to record the album. Starting the day after New Years Day 2008; Engineer, MIKE TERRY joined them for six 12 hour days and two more days in March to record and mix the entire album. While recording, THE DECEIVERS enlisted KRISTEN AGEE to play the violin on seven of the nine songs. She was asked to join the band permanently, and she did. After a mastering session [or two :)] with Gabriel Wallach at Lurssen Mastering, THE DECEIVERS are releasing the second full length album on June 1st, 2008 (“…IN TROUBLESOME CREEK” Tied Records) www.myspace.com/thedeceivers
