notes

I have been in and around music all my life,I started out with a formal music education realized that wasnt for me so I tried different instruments ended up playing sax. Played in a few bands finnally set up my own band we just started to take off but internal polotics turned sour so I got some great guys together went into the studio cut a couple of cd's but it was to limmiting so I decided to go it allone learned how to play giutar drums bass keybourds flute produce and wtite all the material myself and a couple of cd's and a steep learning curve later I have a product I feel I want to share. I mix accoustic and electro sounds with samples loops and live performances,to fuse a soundscape of ambient electro/acc soulful jazzy grooves with latin and affro rythems and rock overtones in places I will mix programned drums with live drums and percision add ambient sound tracks to add layers and textures building a musical house of many layers somtimes layed back and chilled somtimes edgy and imformative but always real for me there are no bounderies in music only our own imaginations if you would like to hear some of the tracks in full click on to my website i have another cd availble family portraite if you would like to try it out click on the link under my website

interstellar rain effect...cool...british accent and old television...a statement to say the least. ART. Acoustic coupled with synth and percussion...brilliance in its simplicity. Takes your here and there...alters progresses...digresses...changes shape and forms. Reviewed by: oodumus from Boston, Massachusetts [flag]

Big clap. Nice percussive start and a well thought out arrangement to get this one on the ground running right at the top. Each musical addition melts into another and off you go into an ethereal dreamy mix with a tambourine snap lilting in your ear. This piece conjurs up images of the scorned lover out looking to press some flesh, just to make the hurt go away. A sad sad song that still uplifts when least expected. Lyrics ooze out with a Jesse Colin Young, Richie Havens sound and even a flute finds its way into this hodgepodge of sound. Also the juxtaposed vocals around 3:30 comes at you like a painting still trying to dry, still screaming, "Look at me! I'm NEW!!!" WHAT FINE WORK HERE. This work should be on the radio. It's a lesson in professionalism and real rare ensemble work. Don't let anyone tell you it's too long..it's not long enough!!! Big clap. Reviewed by: aintsobad3 from New York

Rhythmically complex good production, kind of hesitating rhythm that reflects a particular mood or atmosphere in a very specific way. Very good balance between voices and guitars, for my taste the percussion could still have a little more drive. Nice, go on! Reviewed by: abhiru

variegated and persevering the variegation of this lovely song sounds extraordinary to me: I love the clapping, drum beats and guitar riffs in the second half. In spite of its duration it doesn't become boring to listen to Reviewed by: elbebirthe from Bleckede, Germany

Vocals from the soul The intro in this track is really good. The vocals in this track are great. It has that R&B feel in the vocals I love that. The arrangement is very progressive and I like that. Overall this track is really good. Reviewed by: thinkfree444 from Haverhill, Florida

So call me a fan already! I admit the CTI Admin folks alerted me that Don Dean had set up house here and asked me to check his music out but they didn't have to worry about convincing me where it's concerned. I know quality flow when I hear it and I actually had experienced the joy of listening to Dean's music before. The first time, it made me think of certain songs by that fantastic group War, like what they might have sounded like if they had started making music in the year 2000. It made me think too about some early Santana and then some things I couldn't really identify but that I totally loved. Dean gives us something like a full-bodied orchestral pop treat with smooth waves of warm Latino rhythms, sparkling African beats, and seductive jazzy fusion all mixed to create something totally original and irresistible. His sound is what I figure making good music is supposed to be all about...fresh and hot and kickin' it to the moon. ILWM Share
