This album is especially designed for children and features the classic children's story of Ferdinand the bull by Munro Leaf.

The story has been set to music by the English composer Alan Ridout and is written for solo violin and narrator.

Selections from carnival of the animals are also featured along with favorites such as Flight of the Bumble Bee and The Laughing Violin.

Three descriptive pieces from volume one of "Solos for Young Violinists" by Barbara Barber are included.

All tracks are accompanied by verse by Ogden Nash or narrative

His first big success was competing in the first Yuhudi Menuhin International Violin Competition.

Hall came to the States to study with Shmuel Ashkenasi of the Vermeer Quartet.

Hall's extensive perfoming experience includes tours of Germany, France and Switzerland.

He has also collaborated with such distinguished artists as Mathias Tacke of the Vermeer String Quartet and recently appeared with David Taylor, associate concert master of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a Baroque Festival at The College Church Concert Series in Wheaton.

Hall and his wife Dorothy are the founders of the Hall School of Music in Wheaton which has six members of staff and approximately 100 students enrolled.

Dorothy Hall received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from DePaul University.

She was formerly a member of the Chicago Sinfonietta Orchestra with which she toured the World.

Dorothy is a three time recipient of The Chicago Musician's Club of Women Farwell Award and frequently performs on their recital series.

For five years Dorothy was the concertmaster of the Elmhurst Symphony and also has appeared as soloist with them.

She is currently enjoying the wonders of motherhood Lyudmila Lakisova-Piano A former official pianist for the Belorussian State Philharmonic, Dr. Lakisova now resides in America and is in constant demand as an accompanist and chamber musician and is an official accompanist for the Vamos studio at the Music Institute of Chicago.

Ms. Lakisova also has a fine reputation as a teacher and many of her students have taken prizes in local competitions.

Douglas Johnson-Bass Douglas Johnson is a bassist and composer living in the Chicago area.

He frequently performs with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Joffrey Ballet and the Chicago Sinfonietta.

He has also appeared with the three Tenors, The Moody Blues and Andrea Bocelli on the Opera Winfrey Show.

A television Documentary featuring one of Mr. Johnson's compositions won two regional Emmy Awards David Cunliffe-Cello Mr. Cunliffe has studied at the Royal Colleges of Music in London and Manchester, the Wells Cathedral School of Music and the International Menuhin Academy in Gstaad, Switzerland.

He has performed with the BBC orchestras of Scotland and England and has toured the world with the Balanescu Quartet.

Mr. Cunliffe was also featured on WTTW channel 11 Artbeat Chicago performing a concerto for cello and violin by Lou Harrison with the Gamelan Orchestra at University of Chicago.

Mr. Cunliffe is on the faculty of the Hall School of Music in Wheaton and the Music Institute of Chicago.
