notes

D.B. is a talented Blues Guitarist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. His music is filled with a rich down home blues flavor that makes you feel like you are sitting on the porch right next to him soaking up a Louisiana sunset.

D.B. has been compared to such legendary artists as Ry Cooder, Lightning Hopkins and Robert Johnson. The flowing slide work and gritty vocals make such comparisons obvious, but when asked about it D.B. said "They are the masters, I am just a student."

D.B. has spent most of his life playing guitar, since age 7. Though he plays many styles of music it's his first love, the Blues, that has caught on. "Ya see, I got this MP3 player and I wanted to get some good acoustic blues for it", said D.B. , "and I couldn't find anything I liked on one of those download sites, so I recorded some and put em' up on MP3.Com"

These recordings soon climbed up the charts to take #1 on the Acoustic Blues chart and landed him a spot in the top 20 Blues artists on the site. With over 130,000 downloads, from over 50,000 fans, D.B. got the message. This was his calling.

You cant go wrong with this record!

great cd but hard to find in print, i downloaded a copy from the artists website, it took many hours and a lot of beer{i'm on dial up}. this guy is one hell of an acoustic guitar player.

  • Tasty down and dirty resonator blues, all keepers.

I am pretty ruthless about chucking any CD that doesnt work as a whole or that only has a few good songs. This CD is a definite keeper. Tasty down and dirty resonator guitar throughout. I bought this CD just based on the resonator guitar on the cover, hoping it would be basic raw acoustic resonator slide and fingerpicking. I was not dissapointed!

  • Excellent blues
    author: Jarrod Fischer

really swell blues stuff. mostly just him and his guitar, which is great. a little less great when it gets more electric, and has a band going on, but there's only a couple of those. mostly the music is just great. very impressive guitar work.

  • Fantastic! A refreshing look at accoustic blues!
    author: Steve Keith

From the intro of "Wear Me Down" to the end of "Home Again", D.B. Walker will blow you away! The slide playing is extraordinary, and each song pulls you in. The guitar playing is very expressive, and you can feel the emotions of each song. In the style of the old blues players with just a Dobro and a microphone, this is one CD you can't miss!

  • I expected some great slide...I Got that,... and a lesson in production work !
    author: prolificman studios ltd.

I seen alot, and heard even more. But this guys producer must be some kind of frickin GURU! He leads you into the simplest blues tune, and right when you you think you're with it, A Frickin full blown rock band comes to take you away on a trip that leaves you breathless. This guy is a hell of a lot more than a "Blues Player"! THX...LSB
