A native of Tampa, Florida, Dayve Stewart a.k.a "The Soul Man." The emotion and energy Dayve pours into his saxophone performances along with his warm, friendly, laid back personality has made him a favorite among music fans of all ages. He started performing for audiences at the age of 12 with Sonny LaRosa and America's "Youngest Jazz Band" and continues wowing crowds at the tender age of 22.
Dayve Stewart's name and reputation are becoming increasingly familiar throughout the nation and abroad. From the Clearwater and sarasota Jazz festivals to performances as far away as Japan, Dayve has impressed audiences and musicians alike with his soul moving renditions of both contemporary and nostagic blues, jazz and pop numbers. As one of three sax players in the nation selected to attend the prestigious Vail Jazz Camp in Vail., Colorado. Dayve performed along with David "Fahead" Newman, Wycliffe Gordon and Eric Redd. During a cultural exchange, Dayve toured eleven cities in Japan, with Blake High School Jazz combo '01
Dayve was a featured performer at the Barry Manilow post concert party at Ruth Eckerd Hall as well as performing as an open act for: Craig Chaquico at the House of Blues, Roy Ayers at Ritz Theartre. Four years in a row Dayve has taken home gold medals in the instrumental category for the NAACP annual competion. In the Summer of '01 Dayve won silver medal in the NATIONAL NAACP ACTSO competition in New Orleans. You can catch Dayve's studio sax performances on these albums: PaPa Sean - "Balance", Deborah Aalberg - "Little Girl", Ernest Collins - "I Know a Man", Marvelle Cook - Make a Vow.

HE'S READY
NICE SAX PLAYING
This man can play a sax.
author: Nina LoganI've seen the artist play and must say briefly that he puts on a great show. I saw him Saturday night in Cario, GA. He entertained us with music from great sax players as well as familiar R&B songs. I purchased the CD and let a co-worker hear it. She loved it! Her comment was, "he sounds like a seasoned player. The CD is jazzy, uplifting and competes with the likes of Grover Washington, Jr., David Sanborn and Boney James... I love the CD!
Wonderfully put together album, this artist is ready to make a move
author: Jarritt SheelDayve Stewart, is one of "those people" that you meet once or twice in your lifetime. He is extravagant, intelligent, soulful, humble, business savy, extroverted, musical, creative, and did I say soulful all ready. Dayve has been apparently winning over crowds since he first learn how to play saxophone back in his home town of Tampa, Fl. You can tell by his playing that he is never joking around. Every gig, recording, and practice is a serious affair. You can only tell this by his playing and never by his demeanor. He is a jovial spirit that makes you laugh and smile all at the same time. His new album does just that as you listen to it. It is a fun yet serious look into the New lions of the this art form we call music, and most pertinently jazz music. Eventhough, Dayve doesn't really like to be classified, this brother has amazing chops and this can be seen through his production of the entire album and in this own playing on each and every tune. He is without a doubt soulful. The man is made of soul, and this is one album that I encourage everyone to go out and buy, steal, play....because trully it is a piece of art and deserves to be cherished. Like campbells' soup it is good for the soul!
Finger snapping, slight hand clapping...
author: Nu Flava MagazineFinger snapping, slight hand clapping funky jazz may not seem to be an ear turner to some, but when its done harmoniously with the softly played Saxophone then attentiveness will take place. Dayve Stewart beautifully displays his creative composing and production side throughout this project. If you have been lead by no other names in the jazz genre but those of major names then you would have to consider turning to the independent stations for a variety of wholemeal flavors.
Smooth, soulful and full of vitality!
author: Nicholas ClarkeFirst release from a very soulful, spiritual sax player and producer. Clearly shows his command of his instrument and the processes of production. I look forward to his next release with his touring band, the Vibe, which is bound to take it to the next level of funkiness.
This is one of the best examples of how new school musicians embrace the old sch
author: Ayonna Peaches TaylorFeel me is one of the best jazz albums yet. It is a mix of old school music, with a new school feel. Dayve took time to arrange and create music for the old and the young. This CD has something for everyone. With it's hard-hitting drum beats and the sultry, seductive sound of the sax, Feel Me has the potential to be the pillar of new age jazz. I would recommend this album to anyone and I can't wait for the next one.
He's Ready!!!
author: Steven L. "The Human Metronome" Gooden, II"Feel Me" is only a taste of what God has blessed this man with. You oughta check out his live shows. The man has charisma, style and most of all showmanship. When you go to a Vibe show it's not just a listening party, and that's where many bands are lacking. The man is definitely gifted. Check out his album you'll be BLESSED!

Do It Big
author: Aaron WashingtonFeel Me is a very well organized album. The style of music is very hard to put into words because the sound is so revolutionary. Its a mix a of many styles including jazz, hip-hop, gospel, R&B, and alot of soul. The cd is a little concise especially for a jazz album though the differences in each track makes the album feel like it could be a multi-disc collection. The fact that the cd is compact does allow the listener to "feel Dayve" but also leaving a passion to seek more. It's difficult to choose a favorite track because they are all well put together. After saying that, lay back and chill has become my personal favorite because of the way the song relates so well to my personality. This project is a great cd by any standard. As this is his first project, I'm expecting many awesome works to come and a very big future for this artist.

This CD has a nice variety of uptempo, as well as slow paced songs. One of those CD's that you can just pop in your CD player when you get off of work and kick back and chill to, especially "Just Call Me". Every track is quality which is hard to find these days. Dayve is definitely skilled and smooth on this album and it's hard not to "feel" him on this effort as well. Definitely keep an eye out for this young man. I only wish this cd was a little longer.
Dayve is doing big things...
author: Adrian CrutchfieldDayve Stewart is an innovative and talented new star in smooth jazz and soul music. If you haven't had a chance to pick up his debut album entitled "Feel Me", I strongly reccomend that you make it a priority. Dayve's style incorporates the fire of Gerald Albright, the soul of Marvin Gaye, and the productional and compositional genius of Quincy Jones. I am excited to watch this fellow artist grow and I'm proud to be associated with him. Check him out, if you don't your'e only hurting yourself. -Adrian Crutchfield www.freewebs.com/wildspade
Secret Garden Snippet - Dayve Stewart - September 5, 2005
author: Denis PooleReaders of Denis Poole’s Secret Garden will know it’s the place to go for a British perspective on all that’s good, and not so good, in the world of smooth jazz and classic soul. In order to bring you more of the news more of the time this latest Secret Garden Snippet delivers another current sound bite from the adult contemporary scene. Some artists have to pay their dues on the road and in the studio before finally getting the chance to cut their debut CD but Florida based saxophonist Dayve Stewart has taken the fast track and come up with a winner. Feel Me is an astonishingly well constructed release from someone still only 21 year of age. The soulful thirty eight second introduction and a kicking closing number both in vocal and instrumental form sandwich seven more classy tracks all but two of which have been composed by Stewart himself. Dayve is involved in every aspect of Feel Me. As well as playing virtuoso sax throughout he produces, mixes and variously performs on keyboards, percussion, bass and strings. The result is so polished that the entire piece of work stands out like a shiny new apple. The whole album is generously endowed with top notch playing, most notable in the groove driven mid tempo chunk of smooth sax that is ‘Love @ First Sight’ and the equally silky smooth ‘Lay Back And Chill’ where Stewart achieves a vibe that makes the sentiment of the title a given. ‘Do The Dayve Clap’ is an up tempo tune that is sure to play well in a live setting but perhaps he is found at his best with ‘Give Thanks’ where given the chance to turn it down and get romantic he does it so very well. That said another real stand out is ‘Oprah’, held down by a strong and solid beat, it has an infectious hook and is brim full of melody. A former student of the Howard W Blake High School for The Performing Arts in Tampa, Dayve is a current member of both the FSU Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Combo and is working toward a Commercial Music degree with a minor in Business at Florida State. With a style that has already been compared to both Grover Washington Jr and Kirk Whalum, and a record of the caliber of Feel Me under his belt, with or without his education he is on an express route to stardom. I'm on... the Bandwagon that is!
author: RightNoiseI've listened to the CD more times than I can count. "Feel Me", the title track was initially not my favorite (Just Call Me was). I had accidentally set my CD player to repeat the same song and was too lazy to get up and change it. The title track rang over and over and each time I heard something that made me stop what I was doing. If you have not purchased this album, you should definately do so.
peed myself!
author: njgnot to be melodramatic, but i'd give a kidney to be able to play like dayve! i lost complete bladder control on several of the tracks... the music is magical and stirring...
A great debut album from a talented young artist!
author: Andrew T."Feel Me" is a good representation of the musical and artistic merits of a very talented young artist. Dayve Stewart is a confident and soulful saxophonist echoing the sounds of greats Donald Harrison and Branford Marsalis. The album (particularly the title track and the up-beat "Just Call Me") display Stewart's natural sense of melody as both a composer and improviser. In short, this album is a great starting point for someone we're all bound to hear more from as time goes on. Bravo!
