The first ever tribute to legendary bluesman Sonny Boy Willamson!
Featuring the voice of the mighty Dave Walker. Many consider Dave to be THE voice of Savoy Brown. Even the most casual fan of Savoy Brown will know Dave's voice from their most popular albums 'Street Corner Talkin' 'Hellbound Train' and 'Lions Share'
This is Dave's first album in 14 years and is well worth the wait! Blues Rock that's not over the top! This aint no Aerosmith blues album, baby. This is the real deal.
"His last album, Mostly Sonny... A Tribute to Sonny Boy Williamson, contains some of the finest interpretations the old bluesman ever received.." Dave Thompson, Goldmine Magazine. January 2008
" a worthy salaam to a legend...if you're gone on rowdy, loose limbed blues for the purposes of running jumping and standing still, you ought to give Dave and his Ambulators a listen" Alan Clayson, Record Collector Magazine
Recently featured on the nationally syndicated radio program Blues Deluxe!
Dave is joined by a stellar cast of British bluesmen:
Nigel Watson on guitar & Roger Cotton on keyboards (Peter Green's Splinter Group)
Don Craine on rhythm guitar & Keith Grant on bass (Downliners Sect)
Ray Majors on guitar (Yardbirds/Mott)
Mick Avory on drums (The Kinks)
and Savoy Brown co-founder John O'Leary on harmonica

Great Blues CD
author: HooperReminds me of a smokey bar hearing the best blues for the first time. Highly recommended for any true blues fan.
Great to hear Dave Walker singing the blues!!!
author: jamesWell as a big fan of the Dave Walker era Savoy Brown I have always been on the lookout for his work and own most of it...Daves voice is the best period and as with his work with Savoy Brown " Street Corner Talking " and " Hellbound Train " the " Tribute To Sonny " is first class! His band mates set the table with fine playing all around! Time for The Ambulators to do some of the Savoy Brown stuff with Dave singing as well! "Tribute To Sonny" comes....Highly Recommended!!!!!!!
bravo!!
author: svybrn1Thanks to producer Russ Garrett and all the musicians who made this one of Dave's best projects ever!! Dave's voice has never sounded better and the band is excellent. This is British Blues at it's very finest. Hope to hear more in the future.

Stan Webbs Chicken Shack, Peter Green, and Savoy Brown all come to mind. This cd kicks it in that tradition. This is a keeper of rockin blues....enjoyed it!!!
Best CD I`ve heard since 1989!
author: Hartwig BrammerFantastic Bluesrock CD.
Nice,Nice,Very Nice
author: Stormin' NormanDave Walker is back and shows he still rocks. The first three songs are as good as any blues album out there. His band is really good also...if you dig Savoy Brown or the blues in general, don't pass this disc up.

Sonny Boy himself would be getting down to these renditions of his work
author: Mary ThomsonWell first of all thank you for putting out such a phenomanal selection of blues. Dave is one of the greatest blues singers alive!!! He and the Ambulators do Sonny Boy proud. Look forward to the next CD. I love the voice on, Miss You Too, it sounds like the soulful Stan Webb of Chicken Shack and Savoy Brown Fame. Special thanks to the soulful genius of Dave Walker.
Can`t stop playing it
author: Wayne DeaconJust good hard core blues. Nothing fancy. You WILL like it!!
GOOD STUFF!
author: Dave GerstonRaw & bluesy. A very entertaining album that should (but probably won't) garner airplay in every city. This stuff should be HEARD, dammit! By the way, I like "Honkin' On Bobo" by Aerosmith. Who trashed it in the above text? :) BUY THIS!
Dave Walker is back and with a vengeance, baby!
author: Brian WorthDave Walker's return has been eagerly anticipated by this fan for a long, long time. And this CD did NOT disappoint. From Nine Below Zero to The Midnight Special, this is a highly entertaining album with much to offer both fans of rock and blues. Dave's voice is still roaring strong and suits all the songs he attempts here. And the sound quality is perfect (I had expected a demo-like atmosphere here but it is so much better than that!). The musicianship is top-shelf, too. From the opening bars of Nine Below Zero, that moody Hammond organ just sends a tingle down your spine and classy guitar throughout. Let's hear some more Dave!
Dave Walker is still cookin', but hampered by 3 wannabe vocalists
author: Alan WatkinsI'm thilled to get this Dave Walker cd. Dave is one of the all-time great Blues vocalists, but is squeezed out of the spotlight on 3 songs by musicians with no singing ability. The songs he does sing on are fantastic, with the exception of The Midnight Special. Miss You Too could have been the best song on the cd, if only Dave had "torched it" with his searing voice. Don't get me wrong. The musicians are really great, as long as they stick to playing and not singing. Dave Walker is long overdue for a Blues cd. Maybe compromises had to be made. But as long as Dave sings the BLUES, I'll BUY the tunes.
I was delightfully surprised by the album.
author: Joseph E TuengelI've been a fan of Dave Walker's work, with both Savoy Brown and Fleetwood Mac. When I saw this album available, I did not hesitate. It was even better than I anticipated. The recording quality is excellent, and the song selection is great! My only question is, "When will there be more?". Also, has he done any work since Fleetwood Mac?
A REFRESHING NEW VIEW OF OLD NUMBERS
author: T. S. MILLINIt's about time someone did the deed and offered todays youth a chance to listen to the music that formed the platform for everything that has followed, from rock, punk, folk and any other types of music that have been popular in the last fifty years, this is where it came from.A very refreshing view of the old numbers played properly and sung properly. thankyou lads.
