  • You captured the sound, technique, and style of all three

Dave, Awesome playing. When I closed my eyes and just listened, I felt I was listening to M. F. "Doc", and Herb Alpert. Great musicianship.

  • Simply Amazing!

I have never heard high notes played with such crystal-clear precision as this. Not since Maynard or Doc could I have imagined someone else screaming notes like that. Wow!!

  • Dude, blow my face off!!!
    author: Vance Hu

My friend, you're double "A" was so commanding… I ran down to the Huntington Beach Pier and tossed my horn into the ocean!!! Great CD!!! Great tribute to the late Mr. Fergerson!!!

You know when an album brings a huge smile to your face within the first 10 seconds that you've got a winner. Featuring the dazzling trumpet chops of Dave C. Norman, virtuoso and musician extraordinaire, "Stratosfear" is appropriately named as he soars into thrilling and surprising registers, giving these big band tunes exceptional pizzazz. As a complete project, the album is delightful, bringing to mind the 1970s and the abundance of musical vocabulary like we hear on this album. You might even find yourself flashing back to a 1970s television show. However this disc strikes you, though, it certainly won't be disappointing. Dive in and enjoy a trip back in time brought to you by "cream of the crop" players.
