notes
Seattle’s soul-singer-songwriter Darrius Willrich drips a sensuous
interplay of soul, jazz, and inner city longings. Sure to engage your all your senses, with the look, sound and feel of yesterday’s soul-today. The spirit of Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo, and Herbie Hancock, season the musical stew that is Darrius...Sweet Urban Soul.
Being a trained jazz pianist, a soulful singer, and an intelligent songwriter, with love for hip-hop, Darrius Willrich delivers
feel good music drawn from a wide skill spectrum. The lyrics and message uplift and encourage you to live and love without constraint.
Darrius Willrich’s sound is sweet, melodic, harmonically rich, and infectious. Initially inspired by Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Babyface, Darrius has crafted a fun, colorful, and sexy style. He is definitely top consideration as a soundtrack for love, sex, romance and living life fully.
With a degree in jazz piano, a voice full of tone, and songwriting rich in sensitivity, his songs take you back and propel you forward all at once. Darrius’ years of experience as an instrumentalist, sideman, leader, producer and recording artist, allow him to paint soul using a rich and diverse sonic palette of warm colors and textures. With the urban elements resonating in rich and thought provoking lyrics, Darrius mixes an array of genres delivering Sweet Urban Soul.

Darrius in Concert!!!
author: Yerodin SandersI first saw Darrius (and Choklate) in concert at the Publick Playhouse in Bladensburg, MD. I only recently bought the album because it hadn't been released at the time of the show. In my opinion this album is his best work. It's a Strong / Sexy R&B groove though separated from the normal sound by its true instrumentation. Track "11 Hold On To You" combines WaWa Guitar with Xylophone, Conga and even some flute towards the end. I also love "5 Get it On" because the hook is so addictive. The title track "7 Can't get Enough" is worthy of it's status on the album, but don't sleep on the first track "1 All That I Want" and track "8 Wild in Me". Darrius, thank you for taking your time with this one and filling it with true musicianship. Your efforts are truly impactful.

Love this music! Particularly like tracks 1, 5 and 6 though the whole effort is pretty up there on the quality metre - the keys are great, each song nicely put together, vocals all floaty outside the tempo nice n easy good hooks all n all just suberb. Why isn't this guy on the radio?
om. my.
author: Barbie-Danielle DeCarloI put the album on and from the first four bars of All That I Want...I got lost. Lost in a beautiful dreamy soul-full world of groovy delicious. Suddenly, everything I was doing at that moment got wrapped up in the melodies, the grooves, the sensuousness of the music that is Darrius': sweet, contemplative, l.o.v.i.n.g. At one point I was called away and looked over to see what track was playing (so I could emblaze it in my memory: Back to You) and realized I'd only be listening for a few minutes, but really, it felt like a lifetime. I was swooped into the Darrius Willrich Musical Vortex! Beware: This is the album that makes for baby-makin'.
