DANN GLENN
Symphony No. 6
(The Galactic Symphony)

This is the final installment in a series of six works by the composer Dann Glenn. Symphony No. 6, "The Galactic Symphony", may be the finest example of Glenn's brilliant use of digital sound processing and full orchestra.

The first two movements offer-up a completely atonal excursion into outer space, ultimately and immediately pivoting into a staggeringly beautiful use of the orchestra.

Once asked what his greatest hopes for this incomparable work were, Glenn replied, "It would be wonderful if an Astronaut traveling through space were to listen to this music, while gazing out at the Universe."

For those of us not fortunate or bold enough to have space travel in our immediate plans, listening to this breathtaking music will be a cerebral and spiritual journey of limitless proportion.

Renowned as a guitarist, Glenn pleasantly surprises the listener with a stunning performance at the Steinway Grand Piano, in Movement 5 dedicated to his friend, the late great Jaco Pastorius. ("The Comet Jaco.")

Glenn's gift for creating astonishing imagery in the listener's mind, is key to the complete experience. You won't need a spacesuit or clearance from Mission Control...just the desire to go where no man has gone before; the depths of your own imagination.

Maestro Glenn will surely go down as one of the great composer's from the 21st Century. I've never heard music like this. Quite original and really beautiful. This is not background music, that's for sure!
