notes
Danielle Lyn is an up and coming 20-year-old singer/songwriter who carries her passion for music close to her heart. Her inspirations came early on in life when her parents exposed her to the music of the great’s such as Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, ZZ-Top and Aerosmith along with many others. These early influences have played a major role in her development as a singer/songwriter and it was only a matter of time before music became more than just something for her to listen to. Her music and voice have been described as a driving pop/rock groove with a touch of soul and country sprinkled in with her inspirational lyrics.
This 5'1'' singer with a voice much larger than her stature has been singing and performing since she joined the show choir and chorale in high school. She did a few local nightclub shows featuring cover songs by Christina Aquilera and Alicia Keys who also provided inspiration to pursue her own music. "It was the reactions I got after singing the National Anthem that made me realize this was something I just had to do forever," Danielle says. "There's nothing like the feeling you get when you're singing for thousands of people and hearing them tell you that they loved it... nothing even comes close."
The Cellar in her hometown of Struthers, Ohio was the location for Danielle Lyn’s live debut on June 15th 2007. She rocked the crowd of about 250 with her 5 originals as an opener for national recording artist, Joe Bonamassa. The crowd loved her and showed it with cheers and ovations after each song. Particularly when she finished the set with one of her blues songs “So Done” which was just what the crowd came there to hear.
As a new and emerging artist she is trying to make her own way by utilizing the new technologies available with downloadable music and online marketing. She has created a fairly large following with her Myspace page (www.myspace.com/daniellelynmusic) having over 10,700 friends and 58,000 profile views and 60,000 plays. She is averaging over 300 plays per day.
Her current producer, Jason Levis of 10th Street Productions, has allowed her talent to shine through on her soulful-pop track, "Anymore," which has single-handedly created a small buzz about the Youngstown native. Her first independent release, "The 76 West EP" already being raved about among fellow artists and fans alike. Like other smalltown pop-icons that she is often compared to (such as Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera), Danielle Lyn is well on her way to becoming a household name.
