notes

Born and raised in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois, Dan Hubbard has been writing and performing original music since the age of 16. From 2001 to 2006 he was the frontman for The Hubbards, a group that originated as an acoustic act that also featured older brother Don and cousin Seth. The Hubbards went on to release two albums and rock the Midwest as a four-piece from 2003 to 2006, with Dan being backed by bassist Rob Hill, guitarist Scott McRae, and Don Hubbard on the drums. The group disbanded in December of 2006 when Dan graduated college and decided to pursue his music career more seriously as a solo artist, although he and Hubbards' guitarist Scott McRae still perform regularly as a two-piece. Dan's musical influences include rock, folk, soul, blues, and even a little funk; but he prefers to simply classify his sound as rock'n'roll. His songwriting is mostly influenced by other singer/songwriters such as Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Ryan Adams, and Don Hubbard.
