Dance Planet X-Mas Chill by Dance Planet X
" This amazing EP from the versatile Dance Planet X is sure to be a hit on the RFA shop. DPX's renditions of the seasonal classics "Silent Night," "Deck the Halls," "Little Drummer Boy" and "Auld Lang Syne" are amazingly original and refreshing. That said, DPX manages to make keep the three Christmas carols very traditional as well. (Even your mother will like them!)Also included is their fantastic cover of "Kiss Them for Me," originally recorded by Siouxsie & the Banshees.
My personal favorite, however, is their original composition "Winter Wonderland (Unplugged). It's (simply) hauntingly beautiful. "
THIS XMAS EP is a magical, hauntingly beautiful Tribute to Tim Burton (Director/Creator of Nightmare before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride & more) & Danny Elfman, his brilliant soundtrack composer, from Oingo Boingo!
Dance Planet X's interpretation of these Christmas Classics, performed in Minor keys, effortlessly releases the ancient, old-world, Celtic-like beauty of these familiar, much-loved songs.
Their brilliant remake of Souixsie & The Banshees chart-topping classic "Kiss Them for Me" is a fresh, new take on A GORGEOUS, much loved song!

Dance Planet X ..... Lead singer/ songwriter Monserrattz's BA Magna Cum Laude in Literature/Journalism from University of Miami serves her well. An easy, natural writer with a flair for non-cliche, yet simple lyrics, Monserrattz has always been interested in infusing electronica's digital, geometric, sometimes impersonal world with the sensibilty of a poet; infusing it with the heat of a blood flowing pulse-fully entrenched in a future world that will always need to express the human experience and condition: No matter where it takes us. Monserrattz possesses one of those rare, signature voices, instantly recognizable. She has a highly individual approach to lyrics, phrasing, melody and harmonies. A stylish, charismatic person fully committed to the creation of music, her musical output is prolific. She is of the breed of the unusual and intriguing songstress: i.e. Bjork, Eartha Kit; unusual looks, worldview, creativity and level of talent.
Iry combines traditional instrumentation and arrangements with a wide range of pop, electronic, dance and downtempo grooves to complete what is Dance Planet X today. Although primarily a pianist/keyboardist, Iry also has the ability to perform and compose for multiple instruments, with a flair for arrangement and orchestration. Her ability for musical styles is very broad, having studied classical piano and collaborated in genres ranging from, electronica, pop and R&B to boleros, salsa and menrengue. Iry also received an Honorable Mention from Billboard’s 10th annual songwriting contest. She comes from a family of musicians, and owes much of her inspiration to her father, a vocalist and guitarist. She holds a BA in Music Education and is certified to teach music in the State of Florida.
