Dan Bonow, born in Seattle, raised in Seattle and Nigeria, has, for decades, been a charismatic, exciting ROCK 'n' SOUL master. His bands have been known for unique original songs, funky grooves, soulful singing and existential musings. Dan has toured several continents with his own bands, or backing reggae, world-beat, funk, R&B and blues artists. This is his long-awaited first release.

The CD, WISH, is the culmination of 40 years of rule-breaking in the music business. Recorded in Lagos, Nigeria, Seattle, and Kauai, Hawaii (where I now live and gig with my group UNCO FUNKI). WISH is dedicated to the advancement of WORLD PEACE. My wish...this CD will cause folks to dance, sing, laugh, and THINK! And spread ALOHA for years to come...

Dan Bonow is simply unbelievable...not only a killer organ player but also a brilliant songwriter, electrifying singer and performer. His lyrics are sharp, funny, and wholly original, sometimes employing clichés in a surprising way that casts them in a new, ironic light. His voice has a broad range, from deep bass to silky falsetto, and is just dripping with pure soul. For organ fans, he's also a stunning left-hand keyboard bass player, setting beats that make it impossible to sit still.

"Unco Funkie" is the best, almost could feel your presence on stage while listening to the reknowned tunes of the Brother Dan. What a great new CD and website! We sure enjoyed touring it! Liked the picutres of Andrew and Tim. Affectionately, Terri and (Tim's presently off stage but eager to be on again....)
