notes
Born into a family of musicians (her dad traveled with Bob Dylan, her uncle is a guitar maker, etc.) May Erlewine has been playing music all her life. She learned to sing at an early age and her acoustic guitar is seldom far from her side. Erlewine who was home schooled paid her singer-songwriter dues in her late teens with several years of hitchhiking back and forth across the U.S. Even riding freight trains and always writing songs and playing her music. She made her living playing music on the road working coast-to-coast from the subways of Philadelphia to the California Coast.
Erlewine has worked a variety of venues mostly on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Everything from Tinker Street Cafe in Woodstock, NY (where Dylan used to play). To a string of cafes and coffee houses in the midwest. Streatching from Ann Arbor and Detroit to Grand Rapids and up to Traverse City and Manistee. Her inspired songs and powerful clear voice have a sweetness that keeps audiences calling for more. May Erlewine lives and has her studio in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Goosebump inducing
author: Elizabeth NagelkirkIf you ever get the opportunity to see her in concert, leap at the chance.
blessed am I
author: mcghieI came across these melodious tunes by almost chance. And found a power hidden in her voice that rustled those feathers on the wings of my soul. There are no words to convey my graditude for the masterfully poetic work of art made available through the easy use of Cd baby. Worth every moment of time.

fanfreakysingalicioutabulous...
author: teriyou will want to sing along till your throat bleeds, and keep doing that nonstop for several days in a row until the people you live with threaten to throw you and your radio in tha lake....then, you'll want to do it still, even louder, and laugh all the way in - just make sure the cd doesn't go in the drink with you
Phenomenal...
author: KatelynWow. Daisy May leaves you breathless. My sister's closest friends knew Seth and so she got introduced to the sound of Daisy May. I feel like I have just fallen in love, it is that amazing. Everyone get out and support this amazing artist. She will go everwhere she desires, just wait and see.
Makes me cry
author: Hypenotist@BeowmpMay you write some great muse, and it's part of who you are and part of the whole silly train we all ride to the end. Glad to have known you in this life :)
Relatable experiences with beautiful melodies
author: JF KrainatzThe lyrics of her songs seem to carry a wisdom that is beyond this young woman's age. Along with her beautiful melodies and sweet voice, they congregate into powerful messages, all about life and living. Daisy May, whom I have gotten to see perform live and have been blessed to call a friend, is a truly talented American singer/songwriter.
Powerful, Haunting, and Pure
author: Angela StrohsSaw May at Blissfest and HAD to have the CD. Haven't stopped listening to it since. What an incredible voice and the lyrics are smart and poetic. If you get a chance to see May live, definitely do it! Her presence is intoxicating and she has the gift (much like Marley and Dave Matthews) of making it all look effortless, can't wait to hear more!
I just can't get it out of my head.
author: Andrea GieseThis is one of the few CD's I've bought in which I actually LOVE EVERY track! It's DEFINITELY worth the money. Daisy May's music has a way of getting to people. Her lyrics inspire listeners and make them want to cry at the same time. Her melodies will stick with you and you'll want to sing along and shut up at the same time just to hear her sing. I've owned Sleepless since October '03 and it still hasn't left my CD player...unless I'm carrying it to my car to listen to it there.
A favorite CD already
author: Deborah FredericksI got the "Sleepless" CD right when it came out, since I liked Daisy May's work already. Wow! I know all the lyrics now, and it gets played frighteningly often and no one in the house or work ever complains that it's been on too much. So many lines of her songs drift through my head when I find myself in different situations; the way great lines from Dylan or Rolling Stones classics fit a particular scene perfectly. It's taken me over forty years to understand some of the subtleties of life that are found explored in this album, its amazing somebody so young is so adept at understanding them and able to weave them into new, excellent music.
Incredible songs& delivery...A must for acoustic music lovers everywhere
author: Bonnie DavisA great collection of naked songs, simple and sweet like being carried by a little bird. The music is catchy and inspiring, melodic with an originality to keep you listening to hear what comes next. This is one cd that has been in my player without taking it out since buying it. It captures the soul of the sound very well, right down to the lyrical poems themselves.
