c.w. lakeman is from the old school. he likes to hear the words in a song and enjoy the story. he was born in the woods a few miles south of mt katahdin on the banks of the penobscot river in north central maine. he is proud to be a maine yankee. c.w. worked in a paper mill for forty years, is a machinist and graphic artist, but when the mill went bankrupt, he was out of a job. his urge to draw was gone. but just as in the (old school) of traditional country music he had a lot of things to say. being unemployed provided him the opportunity to collect his thoughts, write, and perform forty songs his first year. he is a self taught musician who only plays by ear. c.w. grew up listening to johnny cash, merle haggard, george jones, and loves the old style country. c.w. also entertains as a maine humorist and goes by cuzin waine from maine, writing all the shows and doing all the characters but one, on his podcast (oddcast he calls it ) on his website " thebackwardsofmaine.com ". w-n-u-b is his golden ridge, randumb radio station, broadcast out of his privy / studio (privio ) every once and awhile. if you like to reminisce. if you like maine humor (with a twist). if you're a hunter, fisherman, housewife, teenager in search of the kind of fun that will make you ask, " how in the world does he come up with all this crazy stuff "? go to his website, we think some of you will be pleasurably entertained.
