"Out of the Shell" is the fourth CD from the power trio “Curtis”.

During the recording of “Out of the Shell” a rough mix of the title track was sent to Guitar Player Magazine. The magic of the track caught the ears of the editors and Curtis Fornadley was selected as one of 10 finalists in Guitar Player Magazine’s "Guitar Hero 2007" competition.
At the show Curtis performed “Out of the Shell” and received rave reviews by celebrity judges: Joe Satriani, Steve Lukather, Nuno Bettencourt, Elliot Easton, Greg Howe and Mike Varney. To view this performance and judges comments visit www.youtube.com/curtisguitar
The music of Curtis is unique; each tune is different from the next, yet there is a common thread that ties them all together; the balance between composition, soulful playing and virtuosity. The guitar is front and center, but the variety of tones and styles allow it to be enjoyed by people other than guitar players. Curtis has great musicianship AND great tunes.

“Cookie Monster” – great grove rocker, Jeff Beck over tones
“Open Road” – radio ready instrumental, I love the solo section: naked but full.
“Charade” - solo Jazz guitar version of a classic Henry Mancini tune
“Starting at Infinity” – High energy rocker ala Joe Satrinai with a Prog rock bridge
“Indian Summer” - Eric Johnson type shuffle, great strat tones, memorable tune
“Simmer Down” - straight ahead rocker ala Steve Vai or “Hot for Teacher”
“Apache” - High energy rave up of a classic surf tune
“10 Years” – moody ballad, haunting melodies with Pat Metheny over tones

author: Scott (Redheadluva22)What seems like eons ago now, a chap named Curtis asked to be added to my friends list on My Space. I checked his page out & the first song I heard was 'Rollercoaster'. I was completely blown away & added that song to my page where it still resides today. After keeping in touch with Curtis himself over the next 2 years, he would give me periodical updates on the new album. Now, here it is (and I must say CD Baby delivered lightning fast), and Curtis was able to better 'Blue Electric Cool'. The production is incredible, so full of rich sound & ambience. Every song is simply awesome, but my favourite would have to be 'Super Sonic'. You can hear the Eric Johnson influence, but Curtis definately has his own style. One word says it all here, SMASHING! If you love instrumental bands, you need Curtis's new CD.....get it, you will not be disappointed!
Another Great Album from Curtis
author: John RenehanIt's so hard to find great guitar music, let alone a good solo anymore. This album fills the void in a big way. Curtis has found a way to improve on his last album and that seemed like a very tough task. Curtis definitely goes for it and gets it with his solos. The songs are well-written and entertaining and the variety is just right. The band backs Curtis up perfectly and songs like "Out of the Shell" and "Super Sonic" are as good as you can get. Great job!
HIS BEST YET AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING!
author: JAMES PORTERI have the previous three cds, 'CURTIS', 'ROOM 137' and ' BLUE ELECTRIC COOL' and I think all three are terrific.I wait patiently for the fourth thinking that more of the same will do me fine.So what happens? It arrives and I am blown away! This is the best so far and as I say above that is really saying something! It rocks, it is beautifully played and well produced and despite the fact that it is only thirty seven and a half minutes long it is worth every penny (cent). Quality before quantity is ALWAYS a maxim to listen to music by! This is varied as the others are, and each number grabs the attention and takes you along with the flow. The feel good factor is high (very important)and it cannot fail to impress.Well done you guys and keep the flag flying.
