rest here, a lullaby album
It's time to put the laundry down, to let the dishes just soak, to click the pen, to hang up the phone, to close your eyes and rest here.
Find the CD, call out the name of someone you love, snuggle into bed and be at peace. Assure that special someone that everthing is all right and that this is a safe place--a place of joy, quiet and comfort.
The following is from Paul Cuneo
Some years ago I started a song business through which parents would commission me to write lullabies specially composed for their children. I wanted more people to have new lulabies, so I wrote 15 nightsongs for all children, that I could make into a CD. From concept to completion the album took nine months. That was cool.
The pure combination of piano and voice has always moved me, and an album of songs for these two instruments alone seemed like the best way to allow for rich textures without losing intimacy.
At the end of the album, all 15 lullabies are repeated in their piano-only versions, so that listeners can sing by themselves their favorites to someone resting.
Knowing there would be times that parents would be listening to this album with their children, I tried to make the melodies very soothing for the children and the lyrics sweetly captivating for the adults.
CHILD magazine included this album in their lullaby round-up, saying it was "...perfect for soothing your baby..." and "...pleasing to Mom's and Dad's ears as well." THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR described it as "...elegant simplicity..." Around 20% of those who have purchased this album have returned to buy more, sometimes as many as 10 more, to give as gifts.
I hope you enjoy "rest here" and that it brings peace to you and your family.
Happy, flying dreams.
