notes
"For an artist to come full circle in range with rhythmic vocals along with flawless precision in a single cut is special. Thus describes the craft of Cris Barber as for the third time this artist has released a smooth and genuinely exquisite production titled Comes Loves. Feminine is the performance, her tones rich and expressions that carry a true cool mystique."
-- Karl Stober, international freelance columnist, JazzReview Magazine

One of the best vocal jazz records I have heard this year.
author: Carlos Fernandez Pacin - Radio HostDear Friends, One of the best vocal jazz records I have heard this year. Excellent. I retransmite more than once on my "Jazz Cafe" radio program. All in it is perfect: the sweet and swingin voice, the musicians, the jazz standards. I want a "Comes Love II". High recomendation for anyone who loves jazz music. Miss Cris Barber is a very good jazz lady. For me it's a great honour to present to the Argentine audience. Congratulations. -- Thanks. Carlos Fernandez Pacin "Jazz Cafe"
Delightful album from start to finish
author: Jacques Emond - CKCU-FM Radio CanadaThis is a delightful album from start to finish. The smooth voice of the singer is perfect for the diverse repertoire she elected to sing. I like that she kept the scat at a minimum, a device that, in my opinion, is greatly overused by female vocalist these days. I look forward to her next release.
Cris Barber: a name to watch
author: Tony Augarde - BBC United KingdomMy feedback on "Comes Love" is : Unlike many of the trendy jazz singers now flooding the market, Cris Barber is a real jazz vocalist - singing in tune with good rhythm and genuine jazz feeling. And the backings are excellent. Cris Barber: a name to watch (even if her name sounds disconcertingly like the British trad jazzman Chris Barber!).
One of the leading ladies of Jazz. Fantastic Voice.
author: Alex Pijnen - BRTO Radio NetherlandsShe's one of the leading ladys of jazz at this moment for me. Fantastic voice and great musicians.

Very rich, velvety vocal style
author: Greg McGuire - Acoustic Guitar MagazinePrior to giving this disc a listen, I was not aware of the recorded work by Ms. Barber, but I intend to follow her career more closely in the future. This is a very solid vocal collection. Ms. Barber gives evidence of a very rich, velvety vocal style with a nice degree of husky undertone. I approach new jazz female vocals with a bit of trepidation these days, as there seems to be a few too many who are deliberately trying to trod the hallowed ground of Diana Krall. However, my fears were soon put to rest. I am particularly impressed with the choice of material. Ms. Barber has selected an eclectic mix of tunes, with a couple of standards thrown in for good measure. A stellar backing band comprised of dynamite LA studio pros. Well done. -- Greg McGuire, Antigonish, Nova Scotia
