notes

Crimson Orchid was basically formed around the idea of death. Most of the band members have lost family and friends to suicide. As well as having wittnessed homicides etc.
So, the first album death walks away basically came through the inspiration of our pain. Roughly three years ago over a bottle of everclear and some heavy thoughts & hearts the band was created.
Our first song being in my heart you'll never die. A story of love lost. Other songs on the album such as meich were created due to what had been a recent suicide in the singers life. Death seemed to surround the band in it's first year.
The first album "death walks away" was a series of songs based on real life events. The idea behind it or the "message" was that the light in our world is never gone. Hope lives in every breath. It was about conquering fear and death. Saying I will stay whole through any obstacle.
When it came time to record the second album. The band was lucky enough to switch out drummers to an old friend. Who of course has now been with the group for 2/3's of their shelf life.
The sophmore album was about "tilling the soil". The band and their people had "made their stand" with "death walks away". Now came "Chapt. 13 (nightmares & fairytales). Again, stories based on the lives of band. Though it was more of a warning. The fairytales half of the album primarily stuck to stories of real people. While, the Nightmares half of the album was primarily sharing a message of the chaos in our world. The reaching of our boiling point as a people so to speak. Songs like "mothers tears" share visions of our dying earth. While songs such as "broken cross of daneyeal" was inspired by the ignorantly racist and biggoted thoughts surrounding us all.
With the third album under way the band feels that their message has been heard thus far. So they now speak of "the revolution" yet to come.
Crimson Orchid is influence by so many things. Of course their lives and the lives of those who surround them, but also by the world around them. As well of course, they are inspired by some of the worlds best music. From Opeth to Black Sabbath, and from B.B. King to King Diamond. Five very different men creating one beautifully unique sound. Mixing metal with everything and anything they desire.
The bands passion exudes from the stage and speakers as they strive desperatly to share their message. The doors are always open and their house is never full. Step right in and sign up for the revolution.
This is only the begining...
