notes

Crashing Cairo is a four-piece indie/alternative band from Detroit, Michigan. In 2007, they played several venues around Detroit and finished recording the tracks for their debut full-length album, Monday Changed Everything.

The members of Crashing Cairo will be promoting Monday Changed Everything throughout 2008 with a steady diet of gigs at local venues and a tour of the East Coast. Their debut release is filled with alternative rock gems. "See" and "Hair," two live-show rockers, are featured on the new CD, along with 8 other songs spanning a vast musical spectrum.

Each member of the group draws on a variety of musical experiences. Singer/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Wax plays whatever is needed while keeping the song flowing on vocals. Bob Gilbert brings a tribal sound on drums while exuding the energy the rest of the group feeds from live. Lead guitarist Joel Cooper's soaring leads and technical brilliance draw comparisons to U2 and Radiohead. Nick Potter keeps the low end moving and grooving on bass.
