notes

With smoky vocals reminiscent of Tracy Chapman and Everything But the Girl's Tracy Thorn, Courtney holds court on stage with a presence far beyond her 20 years. Hailing from Dallas, the singer-songwriters latest album, 'Long Way' captures the bittersweet ache of a lover's loss, the beauty of nature and the confusion of a young woman standing at the crossroads of life. 'Rain on the asphalt, streets flooding with the essence of heaven, streetlights reflect off the water. Weaving red and green like a painting, like our lives -- blended together with such chaos... Hundreds of ways to say I'm gone...' In an incredibly short time, the prolific Miss Fairchild has already recorded two full-length albums, as well as enjoyed the honor of opening for singer-songwriter veterans such as Patty Larkin and Karla Bonoff. 'Long Way' was produced by John Would and fellow Texas singer-songwriter Sally Semrad. -- Heather McCullough

I enjoyed this CD more than the first. The music and artistry gets better with each recording. I look forward to the next step and also share the CD with others with pride. My best to Courtney in all her future releases. I recommend this CD to anyone that wants to chill and have a great time listening to an original artist do her thing!

you want to hear something amazing. you want to hear this cd. magic and reality and music and lyricism abound. this is a cd about what it's like to believe in love. the lyrics find courtney looking and finding and losing all in equal turns. but by not glossing over, by looking in all the wrong places that are so right, courtney shows us things we didn't know - she shows us things we didn't know we wanted to know - didn't even know we didn't know them. every listen unveils something unexpected and beautiful and more often than not relevant. so listen to this record. often. find something relevent in your life in Long Way by Courtney Fairchild
