notes
The album "Shooting Star" was composed and produced by internationally renowned record producer and composer David Courtney who has worked with some of the legendary names in music during his career such as: Roger Daltrey, Roger Chapman, Dave Gilmore, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Ritchie Blackmore and Steve Cropper to name but a few and was also the man behind the success of international recording artist Leo Sayer.
The album "Shooting Star" is a conceptual album based on an extraterrestrial romantic encounter of the third kind told through music. The title song was originally composed in 1977 for the British pop duo Dollar for thier debut single. The record went onto become an international top 10 hit and launched their career. The Shooting Star album was written and recorded in Los Angeles California in 1980 but was never commercially released. Discussions and negotiations took place at the time with Julia Philips producer of Stephen Spielberg's classic movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind considered to produce a film musical version of the album but never materialised. The album was also previewed to a select group of well known recording artists and producers including the Beach Boys who praised the album and even considered recording it themselves.
