Boogie, Boogie, Boogie,!
author: Joey PerniceI love all the great tunes on this CD! They're absolutely jazzy!
Count's "Old Testament Band" Swinging As Only It Could
author: Bob AllenThese marvelous, loosey, goosey performances come from rehearsals for a WW II radio series called "Jubilee". These 1943 and 1944 recordings were what made the orchestra the favorite jazz band in the nation. Great soloists abound with top-notch vocals from Thelma Carpenter and the legendary Mr. Five By Five Jimmy Rushing. Excellent sound.
