Album Notes

Introducing COSTIE PAYNE Accomplished Songwriter, Composer, & Dynamic R & B Vocalist At the age of six, Costie Payne began sharing his God-given talent in a small, down-home church in his hometown of Magnolia, Arkansas. Over his brief lifetime, he has developed a unique style and delivery often referred to as "Pro School" as he adopted the writing style of yesterday's greatest R & B pioneers, coupled with today's innovative arrangements. Costie's commanding stage presence, superb showmanship, silky tenor vocals infused with sensuously soulful melodies and his alluring sex appeal make each and every performance unforgettable! Costie served a four-year term in the U.S. Army where he worked as a cook and member of the 82nd Airborne Division Chorus as he continued to pursue his musical calling. Costie's military career was suddenly, cut short when he chose to donate a kidney to his ailing father in an effort to save his life. This unselfish act of love was successful although, his desire to perform burned within him as strongly as ever. Following his military career, Costie heeded the familiar call "Go West Young Man", remaining diligent in his quest for the seemingly elusive "brass ring" and settled in Southern California in 1997. Shortly thereafter, he had the good fortune to meet the extraordinary producer Arthur Brown whose credits include artists such as Ice Cube, George Clinton, P-Funk, KIDDO and the legendary group Rose Royce. Mr. Brown took Costie under his wing, mentoring him in the areas of musical arrangement and production. Costie currently tours nationally with two dynamic and renowned R & B groups, Rose Royce and The Bus Boys, while focusing his energy on producing his first solo project consisting of original material, written, arranged and published by the artist. He is already a familiar face, voice and name overseas and on radio stations due to live performances in Japan. Today, Costie is committed to reaching the highly anticipated goals of international artist and producer. The core values instilled by his loving mother and grandparents together with his strong faith in God drive him to produce and promote positive musical projects that he intends to use to affect the lives of many people throughout the world.
