Singer-songwriter and pianist Corrinne May spent her childhood Christmases in tropical Singapore. No snow or snowmen ever crossed her path. Hence, this Cradle-Catholic was forced to reflect on the real reason for Christmas whilst carolling with her church’s kids choir.
2006’s “The Gift” is Corrinne May’s first Christmas album. In it, she covers traditional Christmas carols with refreshingly new and surprising arrangements. “Silent Night” has the feel of a ballad from a Japanese anime and “Hark The Herald Angels Sing” bounces along like an Irish reel and jig. Featured musicians include Eric Holden on bass (Josh Groban, the BoDeans) , Craig Macintyre on drums (Josh Groban, Vertical Horizon) and Helik Hadar (engineer, Joni Mitchell, Madeleine Peyroux).
She has released two prior albums, 2001’s introspective “Fly Away” which critics embraced “May's voice is instantly intoxicating - beautiful and adept” (Performing Songwriter Magazine) and 2005’s “Safe in a Crazy World” which went to #1 on the Singapore Music Charts for 2 weeks straight. Her songwriting partnerships have included legendary singer-songwriters Carole King and Carole Bayer Sager with whom she wrote the piano-ballad “If You Didn’t Love Me”.
Corrinne May spends her days writing songs and sipping Darjeeling Kalimpong tea at the neighbourhood Peets Coffee House. She lives with 2 cats and her music- producer husband in Los Angeles.

Her voice is a gift from heaven! Everything about this cd is simply beautiful..The arrangements,the mastering, the musicians, the production & the voice!!!!
