Piano ballads, jaunty accordion tunes, wonderful love songs adorn this album. Tiny Tim and Freddie Mercury made this angel on accident.

notes
"By the time he was through, I had no idea if Corn Mo was a comic hack, a real retard or a true genius. And I'm still not sure, which gives even more credence to that genius theory." - NY Press
Hailing from Texas, he's learned how to bring the thunder and make you a glass of quiet storm. His songs are done with a sincere passion that have become wonderful anthems of ballyhoo'd triumph.
"Corn Mo uses this quirky soundscape to compose mini-anthems, heroic passages and chaotic polkas. If his spiritual father is Freddie Mercury, then his spiritual uncle is Tiny Tim." - Dallas Observer
"Corn Mo's best Magic trick, however, may be his honesty, which is, in this order: jarring, poignant and very funny."

Brilliant
author: Robert HoldridgeI listened to this 3 times in a row. Robert Holiday made me cry the first and third time. I enjoyed this CD very much.
Yay!
author: Wouldn't you like to knowAfter seeing Corn Mo open for Ben Folds, the music gods shined the spotlight of musical genius on the CD you are now contemplating. In plain terms, The Magic is You is a marvelously delicious musical goodie. Lollipop, Robert Holiday, Bananas, and I'll Be Your Platypus are upbeat, infectiously fun songs like frolicking with unicorns (but in a good way, not like "I want to punch this unicorn in the face" way). More serious but no less wonderful, songs like I Wish You Were My Home are exquisite. Buy this CD! Come on, you know you want to.
Corn Mo is magic!
author: JasonI saw Corn Mo a couple of years ago in Austin opening for They Might Be Giants, and I instantly fell in love with his music. It wasn't necessarily that the songs were the best I'd ever heard, but a big part of it was that he was so passionate and thankful that he was doing what he loved. I don't know if it was an act or not, but his songs are like the sincere rock ballads you would expect your burnout friends in high school to write during shop class, songs about picture day and taking your girl to some messed up museum of famous wooden people. I've been playing "The Magic is You" on repeat in my car for the last week and belting out "Busey Boy" along with Corn Mo. I don't have a lot of absolute favorite artists, but Corn Mo is now one of them. Rock on, Corn Mo!
The best thing since Queen and sliced bread
author: emilyThis is Corn Mo - a music genius, words couldn't do it justice. Buy it and be happy.
Corn Mo's music is unique and memorable
author: AdamLDI saw Corn Mo open for "They Might Be Giants", and although I had come to see TMBG, I left thinking the best part of the evening was Corn Mo, because I wasn't expecting much from an opening act and yet he was fantastic.
5 Stars for originality!!
author: Kelly ReaI will be seeing Corn Mo live in October and had to get some clue as to what I was expecting. So I bought this CD! And I've never heard ANYTHING like this in my life! Its so quirky, entertaining and strangely beautiful! Can't wait for the show!
Oddly Genius
author: Michael SturmI saw Corn Mo play and I had to own this CD, It is one of the oddest, coolest, and mind boggling collections of music I've ever heard. It's genius!
Makes me happy
author: Marci&MikeMy husband and I (both in our late 40s) LOVE this CD. Much of it's so happy I can't think about it without smiling- especially the Lollipop and Electric Locket. I Wish You Were My Home is one of the most poignant and soulful songs we've ever heard. The range is everything from the pre-school set to the oldest baby boomers! We want more!!!!
A little strange but I am pretty sure that is what he is going for???
author: www.GreatIndieMusic.comCorn Mo's music is very well done just a little different. Keep up the good work!
He's a force to be reckoned with.
author: CHINASKICorn Mo's a wildman with an accordion and a balls-out rock voice, and he can bust a move to songs like "Busey Boy" and "Lollipop" all from his awesome album The Magic Is You! He's a force to be reckoned with.

It has to be a joke, right? If it is, it is a perfectly orchestrated one. It's bouncy theatrical rock that's mostly piano-based, but you'll get a fair dose of accordion and singing that follows Meatloaf and Freddy Mercury. I would LOVE to sit him down at a piano and ask him to re-write the score to the broadway musical of his choice. And of course, he'd have to perform it. Anyway, this album is a hidden and very polished gem that's turned into one of my favorites for sing-alongs. Half because the lyrics are so random, half because they're irreverant, it's just great drama rock. It is pure genius if he means it. And I think he does.
