notes
Consolidated is an activist recording and performing project directed by Adam Sherburne. Form in 1988 with Mark Pistel and Phil Steir the group have released numerous albums and logged countless miles touring in North America and Europe promoting social justice through music.
Consolidated's musical evolution has drawn from a wide spectrum of musical influences including rock, hip-hop, jazz, techno, noise and blues. Thematically and lyrically the group have maintained a consistent trajectory while exploring the connectedness of different forms of oppression and the principle of linking diverse social justice movements. The issues don't go away so the beats go on. THE PERSONAL IS POLITICAL AND VICE VERSA.
The lyrics on "dropped" focus on the pathological consequences of manhood, homophobia, domestic violence, prostitution and pornography, suicide and violent male rites of passage. All this was inspired by the Crisis Lines Men's Training Program and by the writings of New York activist John Stoltenberg.
"Dropped" was nominated for Album of the Year (alt rock) by the AFIM (formerly NAIRD).

Dropped
author: David HauglandThis cd completely sucked me directly into its vortex! I can't get enough. The music and song topic blend perfectly into true and just social commentary. You don't just tap your foot, it makes you want to stomp and stomp some more! Captain Beyond meets Nine Inch Nails!
Cd is very well done.

Heavy, Funky, Brooding chunks of reality thrown in your face with no apologies. Industrial strength funk with Robin Trower meets Jimi Hendrix guitars.
Consolidated at their best!
