Rapper & evangelist is what I'm called to do. Depressed & victimized is what I adapt to be. Ambassador & counselor is what I embrace; I could be humiliated & broken but through His grace I'm here to be "All Things" to all people so that some may be saved.

notes
At twenty-four years old, Jersey native, Concepts aka Lawrence Lockett Jr, has been a devoted Christian hip-hop lyricist, producer, motivational speaker and urban missionary since the age of eighteen. His lyrical strokes paint meditative portraits of life’s bumpy roads and in-your-face reality. The name “Concepts” derives from an idea or thinking pattern, which coincides with a heaven’s mentality; thinking how Jesus thinks and remembering the phrase WWJD in his daily walk.
With a hard-hitting yet soulful style that has become his trademark, he flips the script with something innovative that the music industry can adapt to. In his goal to bring his music to the masses, he’s not in it to make a name for himself; Concepts prioritizes the kingdom agenda and reputation of Christ over his own. He’s grown tired of seeing a world infected as hip-hop spreads messages of get-rich quick schemes, sex, violence, drugs, materials things, self-centeredness and false doctrines. So he chose to inject Christ into the equation by using hip-hop as a vehicle to evangelize and convey God's heart accurately with intense study of the scriptures.
At the age of give, his musical gifts began to develop when his parents gave him a keyboard for his birthday. As time went by, he would play for his church but he also broke bread as the spirit led him in writing. Concepts put his poems to a beat one-day and decided to put his talent to use. His parent always told him that if he were to do something with music it would have to include Jesus Christ. A member at Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia, Concepts is letting the Lord lead in all aspects in his life and he had no other choice but take up his cross and to follow HIM.
Concepts released his debut album ‘All Things’ taken from the scripture 1 Corinthians 9:22 (‘All Things’ to all people so that some may be saved). The album was released in November of 2007 and features some of the hottest Christian recording artists such as Mac the Doulos (of Everyday Process), Chinell Collins, Purpose & Knowledge (just to name a few). He’s been apart of concerts/events with Gospel greats such as Dr. Bobby Jones, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, Tye Tribbett, and Da’ TRUTH amongst others. With Christian hip-hop gradually rising, his goal is to offer a fresh young perspective on the Gospel presented in Hip Hop. Boldly claiming Christ as his banner and preaching to reach all manner of men, teaching them about the manner of the power of Christ within!

Impressed!
author: 215 Hip HopIf you’re the type of hip hop listener that appreciates good music, dope beats, and slick rhymes with a good flow then you probably won’t even notice that you’re listening to a Christian Hip Hop artist. And not only does Concepts do a good job of putting together the album by himself, he keeps the average hip hop listener on point. And did I mention that he even makes beats. With handling over 80% of the vocals and production Concepts drops a debut that does a good job of grabbing the average hip hop listener and bringing them to the Christian faith. ~215HipHop.com~
