(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

Their sound has been called "Bjork meets NIN, a female version of Trent Reznor, even the harder version of DepecheMode." But let me tell you the sound of this female led mystery has a haunting vibe, tickling your chin as you feet leave the floor.

notes

The Berlin based Industrial Cabaret Project “CompulsorySkin” delivers the female answer to the Industrial Rock Trend with her new album “NakedToTheBones”.

PiaPales music is often described as a harder version of Depeche Mode, an industrial version of PJ Harvey or Bjoerk and often as the female version of Nine Inch Nails.

CompulsorySkin combines Electro, Rock, Synthpop and Industrial like no other. Emotional melodies, refined by PiaPales expressive voice, result in unique music, that specifically seeks its peers in the industrial sector.

“NakedToTheBones” is a journey through PiaPales emotions.
Feelings like longing, love, failing, or hatred are being displayed in all their full, un-varnished and consequent truth.
The title “NakedToTheBones” is to be taken literally.

The album “NakedToTheBones” was fully composed, arranged and recorded by PiaPale.

She assorted an extraordinary line up for the live-implementation consisting of Yankeerose (Bass), Niko Siller (Guitars), Nikolas Basler (Drums) and Vampir Vampy (Synths, Vocals)

  • Buy It Stupid.

Listening to this all the way through is like seeing a really good movie. There are many different sounds and moods. Nothing gets repetitive or redundant. I see the comparisons to the more well known artists above but I think Pia Pale offers something none of them really have. If she had started in the CD buying 80's like all of them did when music was profitable. Before file "sharing" and CD copiers. Compulsory Skin would surely be a name everyone knew. In these days musicians can only hope you give something back and actually compensate them voluntarily by buying what they sell. I REALLY want to see her continue making music so encourage anyone reading this to purchase this CD. You won't regret it. ;p

Have read the reviws of te others and I must say: Yes, yes, yes!!!! They're right. In my first listening I had some probs with a few tracks, but when I heard them twice the songs caught me all!!! And the voice ... amazing!!!! We should all support her to get a second album!!!

  • Title Alone is worth my attention.

A great voice, the tracks are so catchy, another must have to your collection for sure, and she has started a huge following of underground fanbase. In the years to come, people will still be talking about this album, it just needs to heard once to be love with the lyrics, soundscape, and the voice of a true composer, and anyone that buys this album needs to join the CompulsorySkin International Street Team today! And become involved, spread the word, and hopefully some airplay on american radio broadcasts. And of course we need a video for each and ever one of the singles that are produced from this album alone. 5/5 Thumbs Up!

  • U Really Don't Know Music If U Haven't Heard of CompulsorySkin!!

PiaPale is an amazing lyricist and vocalist. It was only last year when I was added to her friends list on myspace. And ever since then its been a blessing to hear her wonderful voice through my speakers. CompulsorySkin's sound is very fresh but is also reminds you of her musical influences such as Nine Inch Nails, Bjork, and Depeche Mode just to name a few. This group is one to watch out for this year. PiaPale has worked so hard on this album, and I think it deserves a good radio play here in the USA.

many people would like to create comparisons to something they already know, this will help them to cope with the possibility of ununderstanding. undoubtedly PiaPale/Valeska has her influences, and some of it may well remind you of something else, and if this is so it is because you listen to what you hear, but that is not what you need to know, this is: if you try to force her music into those around you (and you should) they should very well appreciate it as a very special and beautiful kind of dirt crafted by, and with, the love of a shining and silky genius. many smiles.

  • I'll buy Pia a bottle of Sam Adams if I see her.

The best (in my book) are the ones who try new things. Face their fears and come out to play. PiaPale is moody and doesn't hold back her emotions. If you hate pop music and want to dive into a sweet and suductive style of electronic music with many surprizes then forget NIN and buy this. "All you can eat" got played over and over on my myspace. I love watching her picture slide show on her promo. Seems the same thing happens on the CD as well.
